Ever been compared to a historical figure, long-gone relative, deceased movie or television star in looks, mannerisms, actions? Do you have some vivid memories or recollections that simply don't make sense to you?

You believe in past lives? If so, why? If not, how come?

Share your thoughts here. :) Even better - who do you think your friends or family might have been? :::eyebrow waggle::: Discuss, discuss!

I believe in past lives. Why? Cos I said so.
It's no secret to some of my friends and affiliates that I have an interest in this line of spirituality. It's a long story of how I got that interest that I won't bore you with. To summarize it, I'd say I believe in past lives because of the feelings I have about it. What feels right to you? What feels wrong to you?

Actually, some of my family/friends compare me to ' Pamela Anderson ' ....*peeking in my shirt* ummm, I don't even know why, but I know two things, I may have blonde hair and share the same ' name ' as she does but I don't even look like her! heh....

Do I believe in past life?... honestly no I don't, because I have never had any kind of feelings that indicate anything or something from the past....

It would be hilarious to know if some of my friends or family members were famous people then I might be noticed or rich by now! ...

:wtf: You’re definitely going to have to explain that one, or at least give me a BIG hint.

I have a light theory about how people have been opposites in past lives.
Besides bbnt and I usually barter jokes this way. No harm done to you I hope ;)

I believe in past lives.

I think I was a hippy in the early 70s - I absolute love 60s and 70's stuff, it is an era that I think was awesome and looked like to be a lot of fun

my past life is that woman, Mona Lisa in the painting .. I think she s a mystery woman so I am .. :)

While we're on the topic of theories - here's mine!

I have wondered what is done with all the souls that have been lost - and what becomes of a person's "being" once the person has passed away? Are these souls recycled somehow, or are they completely "dead" as well? I find this to be an interesting topic because, well...we have all seen and heard the little references. For example - a man who drinks directly out of a milk carton and then wipes his face with the back of his hand might have been a caveman in his past life - LOL. (There were a LOT of cavemen!) A woman who knows nothing other than how to be submissive might have been a negro slave in the South in the much earlier days. A diver who spends more time underwater than he does on dry land might have been a shark, or a lovely angelfish. :)

My point is - how do we act the way we do? Especially when behavior that we exhibit is not necessarily learned? What makes us different? Were we, in fact, different people? I'm sure we were - or if we're "new," perhaps we will be setting a mold for others who will live on with our souls in a future life/installment. :)

yeah the reason i'm have a past life of Sir. William Wallace is because i fight for freedom such like what he did in scotland and i never gave up.. i'll die for it ;)

past is past too old 4 me and wishes me goes back childhood where I gonna have blast time and fun more BUT.. doesn't want to curfew! *chuckles*

I do believe that i have past life because there is so many times whenever i meet peoples and they sure look so familiar and i can't place them where did i met them or sometimes i do feel dot connect with someone as few times people come to me and i reconize them and say their names and they were freak out and asked me how did i know them ??? i said i seem met them before but nope thats something spooky isn't it ? so that's why i believe that we have been meet all of you in the past life ! before we were born in human...

I was a vampire in my past life. I was stabbed with a wooden stake. I was reborn again with a tendency to set things on fire. I later found out that I was a vampire in my past life so I decided to go on a blood-sucking spree. I accidentally burned down a victim's house with me along with it. Now, I'm reborn... as a blood-sucking fire-starter!

This topic is really interesting. In Buddhism, some believe that people who have already reached nirvana, sometimes come back as a person who has a serious problem, so that they can help make other people understand about them and develop empathy towards the untouchables or something like that. There is a book out there which has photos of deaf people living in Nepal or Tibet, living very poor, but people help them out because they believe that the deaf people have a place on Earth to help them understand and develop empathy towards deaf people and their sufferings.

As for me, I wouldn't know who, but probably someone in my ancestors line because I keep on having odd coincidences that cannot be explained otherwise.

No harm, I was just totally stymied by your analysis. Especially since I just saw Troy last week and I see absolutely no resemblance between bbnt and Diane Kruger.

I’m totally convinced that bbnt was Beethoven in a past incarnation. Think about it—bbnt is a man with a vision that only he can see—a socially isolated man who spends hours at a time crouched in the dark, consumed with a passionate frenzy to communicate his genius to the world in the only way that he knows how. Alldeaf is the canvas upon which he paints his opus—his loving gift to a world that can never understand. And it’s not just a coincidence that this is a Deaf message board, either. ;)

Interesting thread, Malfy. :)

I have to say I have a conflict here, though... Because I believe in past lives, but I'm also a born again Christian, and the two don't mix too well. Conflicts aside, though ....

My Mother was told that she and I have been together for a long time, and that she knew me hundreds of yrs ago ...I'd have to ask her what she was actually told in order to get a better picture for you about all this, but I'm inclined to believe it. I've also been told that I'm an "old soul", wise beyond my years, and have always been this way. Even as a baby... :dunno: It's cool, though! :)

As for this thread, I haven't a clue about you, Malfy... You'd have to tell ME who you think you are! lol How's that for a giant side step? lol
