Who wear hearing aid? one or two?

I understand how do you feeling. I am sorry about your hearing loss. Do you think you can still work for RN Nurse?? If you want to be continue work. May you would like to get a cochlear implant because of your hearing loss a lot than I am. Do you have other career for future?

I still do work as nurse. I still love it. I work in Intensive care/ Critical Care unit and ER too. It is tremendous challange every day. Yes I have seen CI specialist before, I have no decision on anything yet. As far as further career, I want to be Geneticist one day. Maybe find a cure to something???? We'll see

Yes I wear my HA's every time to work. I have great stethescope that Littman company manufactured for me that uses FM Loop with DAI 1,500$! yikes . I am afraid to miss on possible critical informations. I have biggest problems at work paging doctors who are not there about their patients. There are some of the main ones here that will speak with text phone and give orders that way. I text back to confirm accuracy. There are just some few minor things where I need assistance, but I am mostly entirely independant and even work as floor charge nurse.

Sorry off topic I was reading Pinky and hohDougRN converstation with interest.
Doug i just wanna to say well done for being a nurse especailly when u went deaf, must be hardest time of your life.

I have an old School friend who is profoundly deaf (since birth i think) she is a RN nurse.

It's okay. Yeah it's tough for Doug. That's good thing he is work at RN Nurse. He is lucky! I never see any deaf work at RN Nurse. It's very interesting.

I was born deaf. I do wear 2 hearing aids. I like to hear both ears than one. I have to deal with deaf since I was born.

I weat two Starkey digital bte's the same color as my hair for three years. Never had digital before, but audiologist talked me into coming into the 21st century with technology. So far, so good. I still use captioning on television, though.

Every deaf person at the college here, except me :laugh2:, has hearing aids. Even the deaf teacher has a hearing aid. I am starting to feel left out :laugh2:

I did however, have them when I was growing up. All they did for me is make things louder not clearer or hearable.

I wear one analog, I tried digital twice but I returned them as speech clarity was best in my old analog.

I've no hearing in one ear, perfect hearing in the other until I was 21 and then two sudden hearing losses.

I have a love/hate replationship with my ha. Hopefully someone will develop something better soon coz I'm stuggling.

Two Oticon Epoq BTE's, they are the Epoq XW so they work together. With my HA's I am pretty much back at the level of a hearing person...but not completely. It is frustrating because if I don't hear something, my family will say "do you have your HA's on?" and of course I do but sometimes I still miss stuff! I just miss LESS than I used to. ;)

My mother used to say that to me when I was a kid and just got my hearing aids. She also threatened a good many times to crush my aids, to no avail. :D

Indeed, hearing aids cost money and we can find ways to buy hearing aids. As for me I only have one hearing aid on my left ear (90 percent hearing loss) and totally deaf all the way on my right ear all my life. I was born that way. I can only hear sounds or noises which I hate the noises a lot. I try to get my hearing aid off so that give my ear a rest. Silence is golden and loving it very much. I don't like hearing people trying to make me hear like them. Hearing people should just accept us the way we are no matter what. :ugh3:

Who is your insurance carrier?????

I'm very pleased with the Siemens Centra digital hearing aids. Plus my insurance pays 100% of the cost for new hearing aids for each ear once every year. great deal.

As above would you be kind enough to tell us the name of the insurance company?

TIA

Best regards,
Glenn
