My apologises if this has been discussed more than once.

Who likes Japanese Animation? Do you watch them on TV or read on comic books or whatever you have?

For me, I love the show called "Love Hina" which comes out on DVD and thankfully, it is captioned too! It's great. LOL

Feel free to discuss about the animations here! ;)

I love to watch anime!

Haven't watch many lately though.

It was cool that Love Hina is closed captioning, I don't know if America version does it too. Guyver is the only anime tv series that I know that has closed captioning in region 1 dvd.

Yeah, it is awesome to watch Love Hina, have the series at home, but have not watched it for a while so I should ! And also, you could find some DVD of love hina in american version on ebay?

japanese animation = anime

Just thought you'd like to know since "japanese animation" is usually a term used by people who are noobs (newbies) in the anime culture. ;)

Anyway, I like anime. I usually go to an anime convention that they host here every year. I also collect some anime DVDs from time to time when the price is right since anime tends to be expensive.

Here are a few of my favorites...

Akira
Fullmetal Alchemist
Inuyasha
Ninja Scroll
Tri-Gun
Hellsing
Naruto
Gate Keepers
Samurai Champloo
Fist of the North Star

In bold above, I know that DVDs are expensive at this stage, but it can be worthwhile ;)

I don't like anime. I like cartoons for example of Tom Jerry or Bugs Bunny cartoons; The Simpsons cartoons style; Family Guy style cartoon; and 3-D animator such as: Finding Nemo, Toy Story 1 & 2, and Over the Hedge.

I am not interested in Japanese anime, because it doesn't very fit too well for me.

Then don't come in here, make your own thread about cartoons, this ain't about cartoons...

Whole rest for me, I never buy japan comics nor watch stupid japanese animation at all. For the TRUTH, japanese animation is not very expressional animate itself. its super-dull! Sorry, thats offend or not. Japan people always draw as obess about white people in japanese animation than their own race, face, eyes. they wanted the world believe Japan people are white with blonde/ blue eyes, brunette/ green eyes, on and on alike europe's. but they aren't!

I do read comic books like archie, "100 bullets:" collection, mavel: Halo, others. Depend on tv cartoon I like watch as tom & jerry, disney, so on and on. thats me for who I am me!

Completely, everyone has their own opinions.

But really, this thread is not for cartoons though ;)

I used to be addicted to Anime. I've seen many popular shows and movies such as Akira, The Galaxy Express, Macross series, Sailor Moon series, Saint Seiya series, Gundam Wings series, Dragonball, DragonBall Z, and Dragonball GT and more!

Dragonball series was way boring and the story was repeating itself over and over again. There is only one thing from that series astonished me that Bulma is married to Vegeta and have children, Trunks and Bra.

In my opinion, the best series are Escaflowne and Cowboy Bebop.

I used to watch Japanese animations when I was a kid , rarely now

That's why I usually go to anime conventions. You can often get good deals on DVDs there.

I usually check the anime section at Best Buy every week while checking out the new weekly DVD releases. From time to time, I might catch a good deal.

For instance, Avatar: The Complete Book 1 Collection is normally priced at $53. I walked in the store on Tuesday (the day new DVDs are released weekly) and picked up their weekly ads to check out their deals. I saw a new DVD that I wanted, so I got it. I looked under the add for that DVD and saw an ad for the Avatar: Book 2 Volume 1, but a mis-printed picture of Avatar: The Complete Book 1 Collection. This was priced for $11. I showed the manager this ad and he mumbled... "Grr... ok, you can have that Avatar Book 1 DVD set for $11." and walked off. Oh boy, I saved myself $42! Heh!

I am a ANIME LOVER. I have some of my anime, I prefer to list what I like the most:

X the anime (whole series and the movie)
Serial Experiment: Lain (whole series)
Twilight of the Darkness Master
Akira (always since I first watched it!)
Metropolis
Ceres (whole of the series)
Sailor Moon (have few of them, wish have completion of the series but HARD to find!)

That's all I can think of, but I am sure there's more in my movies shelf.

I like anime somewhat, but I think the storylines for most of them are weak. I appreciate the art though. :)
