Who know to how a build computer.

Been building computers since my 286. That had six speeds that it could run at... 6, 8, 10, and 12Mhz. Just think, the newest P4's run at 3060mhz. LOL. That computer also had a 40MB hard drive, and it had to be partitioned to a 33MB and 7MB partition under DOS 3.3. It also had .5 MB of ram. My computer now haa 40,000 MB hard drive and 512MB of ram. What a difference...LOL.

Prostock19, What your motherboards name?

Depends on what you mean by "build a computer." I don't have the money to put together a chip fabrication plant, or even to make multi-layer PC boards. :) OTOH, I have assembled PClone computers from components (i.e. boards and peripherals), with the exception of installing heatsinks--that step is iffy enough that I don't want to risk plowing a screwdriver through an umpteen-layer motherboard. Aside from the heatsink/fan matter, it's really a pretty trivial job.

It's easy. I built my first computer when I was 14 years old. Right now. I have AMD Athlon XP 2500+. It's take me under an hour for built.

It is mad easy to do it. The hardest part is buiding a complicated system. 6 hard drives with RAID 5 support with dual cpu including 2 tape drives and 2 cdrom all inside 2u sized rack. Try that. :D

Oh i see....OKay.

Last year I built a homemade motherboard for 286x2. I will try to find a picture of it.

I want to build my own case made out of plexiglass. With those new parts being colorful, it would be nifty to add in blacklight too.

Nah, I meant as custom case. Not with windows on the side of the case. I meant the whole case made out of glass and you can see through everywhere and see all the pieces inside.

Maybe I will make a rack case type. All I need is some large boards of plexiglass and milling tools.

The other accessories are just left overs that I have here in this room that I planned to use for a new case until I came up with this idea for glass cases.

Master PePe, Can I see ur picture this is post for ur own build the computer?

No I don't want a glass panel. it is worthless as a case. Fiberglass would have been good but I dont' want sharp edges. Plexiglass seems more safe so if it breaks, it won't really shatter like a glass panel.

Some of milling tools also can be glass cutting tools.

It's possible, and it would give you more flexibility in color choice over pre-built plexiglass cases.

OTOH, plexiglass is RF transparent, and computers generate a lot of RFI. Are you sure you can deal with that?

Yes, that is why I chose the Rackmount size instead of Tower. The power supply would be in the back as far as possible. It is illegal for some of retail stores to sell cases with no RFI protection because of FCC regulatations. Right now, the only concern I have for RFI is my TV and wireless phones (I really don't care if someone here bitches at me saying their phone does not work). TV is another story.
