Do you have a wired or wireless electronic home security system? If you do, are you satisfied with it? Do you get satisfactory support from the security company? Do you think the cost is reasonable? Do you feel safe?

no I do not and we've never had home security system in our entire life.

I have a wired home security system due to living close to the Baltimore City line. Yes, I feel safe with it and yes, i am very sastisfied. I pay 42 something dollars for it every month. I prefer 35 dollars but my hubby travels sometimes for his job and it is a peace of my mind to have it on at nights when I am alone with the kids. Yes, they added strobe lights for any deaf customers for free. Also the touch screen is "captioned" so if it is going off, it will say why in captioned along with the voice message. Pretty cool, heh?

my husband was robbed before, and it didn't motivate him to get security. it just motivates him to get smarter about things. Like changing your locks, and don't show people who are working on your house the layout of your house (keep the doors closed) and such.

oh and hide your expensive stuffs. thieves usually have to know where everything quickly so they study what you got first before they make their first move

Due to where I live - we don't really need a home electronic system. Airport security drive through on a regular basis (every 10-15 minutes) and there are 7 Sheriff officer's living in the neighborhood, 5 with K-9 dogs.

I have a wired home security system in whole house and two strobe lights but not in use and nothing to pay monthly because i don't have landline phone line. I want wireless home security system instead of phone line. But I don't need to pay monthly. Crime in my city is very low.

I agree, I try to so the same as your husband. But everybody handles things differently. I know one lady who was robbed years ago, and has been psychologically messed up since; she thinks she is being followed and is constantly moving house, etc.

Having a dog can also be a very good deterrent.

We have exterior deadbolt locks on the doors, first floor window locks, and outside motion detector lights on all sides. We have law enforcement people living in our neighborhood.

However, last two weeks, houses in our neighborhood have been broken into during the day when people are at work. I'm back at work now, so there is no one home for many hours per day. At one house, the crooks took a 4 x 4 and bashed in the rear sliding glass door.

Have a wireless security system around the house - had them for the last 10 years, with three false alarms :/

I would like wireless because the bad guys can cut wires outside the house.

No one has anyone's address here.

Believe me, there are freaks out there that have all kinds of information. No need to give them any added information... but that's just my opinion. If people are comfortable with releasing that type of information, then that's fine by all means! I just don't want to take part myself... and I was warning other members so that they understand the risks.
