Who doesn't observe Valentine's Day?

I don't know what the deal is about Valentine's Day. One should not dedicate a day apart from the year to be romantic and have with their partners. The way I see it, Valentines Day should be EVERYDAY. You should show love to your partner EVERYDAY and do all the special things for them every once in a while. I think Valentine's Day has become wayyyyy too commericialised! :thumbd:
 
I have never liked Valentines day, and most people chalked that up to the fact i never had a bf on Valentine's Day. However, that's not the case. I think Valentine's Day is just a scam for card making companies to make more money off a holiday that is ultimately stupid. :)

:werd: I feel same thing. Make busines boost cuz of that day.
 
Very true about business..
it's nice to treat one another
every day what if he/she dies tomorrow
rather than wait till one year later...
it also put another person in an awkward
position increasing higher expectations
from another which could be either
good or bad...

Thats one of reasons i do NOT bother to
say "Happy Valentines day".. and
also i usually joke around saying
"Happy VD (Veneral Disease)" and/or
"Happy Very Deaf"... etc...
 
Well, I do not have a boyfriend on Valentine's Day but it doesn't mean I cannot celebrated Valentine's Day. Therefore I spend it mostly with my family My Children whom I love so much. and my friends and friends from AD... Its good to show love everyday than on the special day. :)
 
I dont advocate Valentine's Day.

Why should it be one day to give you an excuse to pamper your loved one or yourself? They shouldn't make it one day.. it should be 354 days a year! Yeesh, so therefore I dont believe in the whole speculation of V'Day. I feel sorry if you are getting all excited for V-day because then obviously you dont get enough loves and kisses on non-V-days... :-/ sorry if it offends you but it is true if you think about it.

Everybody should be loved everyday anyway. :-D
I made a theory, with no hard evidences of course, but I think back in the old days, they had to make a Valentine Day just to remind the men that they need to give some love for their women (or vice versa??) to keep the morals high in the cities... and then they notice the economy flowing due to the purchases of flowers and chocolates so they made it an annual thing...

That is just my thought, after all. :-D
 
I work part time in a liquor/convenience store. We had a lot of slightly panicky guys come in tonight asking if we sold cards or flowers. Oops—did we forget something there, Bubba? :mrgreen: Next year I’m gonna stash a few dozen roses in the cooler and milk this one for everything it’s worth. :D
 
I never celebrate valentine's day therefore it sucks :mrgreen: I just go and think of it as another normal day as it wud be.. :roll:
 
Cheap people lol.......sometimes men needs a clue to celebrate their partner :) besides birthday, anniversary, holidays, etc..........
By the way gnarly, you are partly right about keeping moral high, the soldiers was kept away from their loved ones and Valentine brought them together and married them in secret. He was beheaded on Feb. 14th for doing so. It is true that NOW it is commercialized but so is Christmas but it has special meaning

this year is leap year. :)

St. Valentine Day don't mean you have to show the love to you boy/girlfriend. At least you have heart for your good friends and family.

I send beautiful movie clip of me in sign languages to my family and friends. They love it! I feel good about myself. :)

I personally agree with you there...

of course, I like christmas and easter better because that's when you spend time with rather than just one person but to be with other people like your friends and families and that's what count as real love.

surely, i definetly hate valentine's day, but I have given chocolates to my parents and my parents given chocolates to my brother and me so it's nothing personal...we are all just sharing love in the house and all...so yeah valentine's day is pretty pointless...kind of silly and mushy and stupid, if you ask me.
 
yea, I think having valentine day is a big whoppe fucking do. Its too much of a hassle trying to remember to buy gift and whatnot.
