Trump.
Isn't it obvious?
Isn't it obvious?
Navy.. But We are still watching out our back because Osama's followers will attack later??!! :Ohno:
The tip that led to the location of Osama Bin Laden was a direct result of waterboarding at the Gitmo prison.
After Osama Bin Laden was killed, Obama called Bush to let him know. Obama then thanked Bush for all of the hard work put into motion during his administration. Bush then congratulated Obama and said job well done.
Why can't you guys seem to follow the example that our leaders are setting?
Osama Bin Laden was killed during Obama's watch. Good for him. How many terrorists were captured and/or killed during Bush's watch?
There are a culmination of factors and efforts at play here - both parties and their leaders achieved a common goal.
I heard the tip came from Gitmo prison too, but I did not heard what form of torture what used to get the tips.
Well here's a quote from Dick Cheney: "I also want to congratulate President Obama and the members of his national security team. At this moment when bin Laden has been brought to justice, we especially remember the sacrifice of the young Americans who've paid the ultimate price in defense of the nation, as well as the nearly 3000 Americans who lost their lives on 9/11."
If there's any politicans that I like less than George W. Bush, it's this one. Unlike many of his - if not all - his fellow party members, he's willing to congratulate Obama and others as well. I never thought I'd ever say this about Cheney but he has been much more gracious about it than his fellow party members.
Well, it seems that many people, including the usual suspects here on AD, want to try and mitigate the achievement of our Commander in Chief and his team last night by claiming that he was simply just carrying on the policies of his predecessor, GW Bush--that Obama didn't really do much, etc. etc.
Let me direct you, friends, to this interesting nugget of information:
C.I.A. Closes Unit Focused on Capture of bin Laden - New York Times
That's right, Bush SHUT DOWN the intel division (started by Clinton) that was devoted to capturing OBL. It was Obama who started it back up. It was Obama and HIS team who took the lackluster efforts of Bush and actually did something. Bush was more excited about starting and perpetuating wars to make his buddies at Halliburton/Lockheed/Northrop/etc, fatter cats than they already were.
So let's stop this silliness. Bush deserves as much credit for this as the guy who laid down the plaster before Leonardo painted The Last Supper.
Like!
I guess the obamites need something to grasp onto. I think most of "the usual suspects" agree. Good job obama. You continued the hunt and saw it through to the end.
Nawww, it was Charlie Sheen. He rocks as a SEAL.
Better keep one eye open at night from now on. At least that's what they say if you diss Chuck Norris.
I'm a native Virginian! Some of you may remember this joke:
Bin Laden's trip to the pearly gates...
After getting nailed by a Daisy Cutter, Osama made his way to the pearly gates. There, he is greeted by George Washington.
"How dare you attack the nation I helped conceive!" Washington, slapping Osama in the face.
Patrick Henry comes up from behind. "You wanted to end the Americans' liberty, so they gave you death!" Henry punches Osama on the nose.
James Madison comes up next, and says "This is why I allowed the Federal government to provide for the common defense!" He drops a large weight on Osama's knee.
Osama is subject to similar beatings from James Monroe, and 65 other people who have the same love for liberty and America. As he writhes on the ground, Thomas Jefferson picks him up to hurl him back toward the gate where he is to be judged.
As Osama awaits his journey to his final very hot destination, he screams--"this is not what I was promised!"
An angel replies "I told you there would be 72 Virginians waiting for you... What the hell did you think I said?"
--------------------
And as it turns out, it was Virginians who did the job! SEAL Team 6 trains down in the Norfolk area. Those guys might not be from Virginia originally, but they are all Virginians by adoption, so our fair state will take due credit.
As anyone who lives here knows, "To be a Virginian either by Birth, Marriage, or Adoption, or even on one's Mother's side, is is an Introduction to any State in the Union, a Passport to any Foreign Country, and a Benediction from Above."---Anonymous
The Mayor of the town where the SEALS trained wants to honor them in some way, but he has a problem - as they operate under high secrecy, he has no idea who they are or where to find them.

Yay, you!! Represent!!
I'm not a native Virginian, but I got here as fast as I could.

Speculation. Has never been supported. At best, it is said, it COULD have been from Gitmo. Just a little thread of hope the Obama haters are trying to use.
After Osama Bin Laden was killed, Obama called Bush to let him know. Obama then thanked Bush for all of the hard work put into motion during his administration. Bush then congratulated Obama and said job well done.
So Obama is an excellent diplomat and a humble guy. Doesn't mean Bush gets credit.

Osama Bin Laden was killed during Obama's watch. Good for him. How many terrorists were captured and/or killed during Bush's watch?
How many, Steinhauer? And how many of them had the kind of power over a terrorist organization that Bin Laden held?
There are a culmination of factors and efforts at play here - both parties and their leaders achieved a common goal.
The entire U.S. deserves the credit!
Evidently, Obama considered it more of a priority goal than did the Bush admin. As long as Osama was on the loose, they had a target to use to propogate fear in American citizens; the whole premise behind the second term.
