It really depends where in California you live. I have lived all over this state and I like Northern California best. Bay Area, San Francisco are pretty congested and do have a higher cost of living.

You're right, of course. Arizona has diverse regions. I saw only the part we drove across when we moved from NJ to Lancaster, CA.Only a small part of AZ is really hot during the summer but in the wintertime it averages 70 degrees. Northern AZ gets cold and snow. Recently, it was -9 degrees there a few weeks ago. My dad moved to Pine, AZ and it has snowed there a lot more than it did here in MD since November. Beautiful up there. Here is a picture that my dad took from his cabin window a few days ago.
BTW (not you, Reba..but to the others), I grew up in Phx, AZ.
San Diego area is beautiful. The climate is fantastic. I lived there for one year as a teen. Much too much expensive though.I have only been to the Northern California once when I was really little. I would love to go there again. Growing up, we always visited Southern California especially San Diego and LA.
