Which hearing aids to try?

I wonder if his reluctance with learning the sign more, may have been due to his poor fine motor......and I wonder if it's all interconnected....maybe a lot of his behavoiral issues may be due to having poor communication plus the poor fine motor skills. After all autism and undx hearing loss can look alike you know.

Yes, it's probably all interconnected. He is actually doing better now, since he received hearing aids. He seems less frustrated, and more aware of his surroundings. He is noticing sounds, and experimenting with toys and things that make noise. And he started to babble again, which he hasn't done in a long time.

Oh that's good...........Maybe when his fine motor improves he'll pick up some sign. I know you're hoping that he'll be abe to pick up speech as his first language.......and that would be great.....How delayed in speech is he?
Does he have some spoken language? Most mildly hoh kids pick up some speech, even when unaided.
Maybe a good idea in your case might be to consult with an augmentive/alternative communication specialist to see if there are other ways he could communicate while aquirring speech/sign.
