I'm glad you chose black. :) Of course, I'm biased as both of my CI processors are black. I chose that color because it goes with anything.

I decorate my CI processors and coils (headpiece) with glitter decals that can be purchased online or from any crafts store. I've received lots of compliments on them! :)

What should I expect my first day/week with my ha??

Some sounds may seem loud to you and you may become exhausted after listening with your HA for a certain period of time.

If this is the case, try wearing your HA for only 2 hours per day and gradually work your way up (adding an hour each day).

Keep in mind that it will take your brain a little time to become used to the new sounds it is hearing, so don't give up if things sound strange at first. I don't know what your hearing loss is, but chances are that you will be hearing frequencies that you haven't heard in awhile or a long time. The sound of your voice may also sound different to you.

The longer you wear your HA, the easier it will be to acclimate to the new sounds you are hearing.

Good luck! :)

If I were you, I would have gone for the pink one (it matches your blouse) ;) But, since I'm not, I'd go with the purple transparent.

Usually the biggest adjustment is in your own voice. You are the closest one to that hearing aid and often patients forget that their voice will be amplified as well. If your voice sounds too loud to you your audiologist can turn your voice down. Pay attention to how the earmold feels and if it causes you any pain, get in contact with the one who fit you. Lastly, be realistic, be patient, and know that it isn't going to be anywhere near normal hearing. It's going to take time for your brain some time to get used to processing sound a different way. Lastly, keep an eye on the time left on your trial period. If you are uncertain, or have any doubt about the hearing aid, DO NOT let your audiologist lead you to think you "Only need a few more adjustments". You get 30 days, Phonak will give the provider 90 days to return the hearing aid for credit. If he/she is unwilling to extend your trial period, and you do have doubts, return it. The worse thing you could do is allow yourself to get stuck with a hearing aid you don't like.

True, Steve. And you forgot to mention that the sound of ones own voice may or may not sound like she is hearing her voice in her head. This feeling drives me nuts (which isn't easy to do!) ;)

The should have a small supply with the aids; the audiologist should also show you how to clean them if you don't know how to do that.
