Wayyyy back in the 1970s when I was a little girl, I found an orange and white cat (a stray) walking around our yard. He looked hungry so we fed him some food.....and I named him Snoopy. Snoopy came over daily (obviously he wasn't owned by anyone), and we fed him, plus I remember giving him a bath outside and he ran off with soap suds all over him. LOL Later, a neighbor of ours ended up adopting him until Snoopy passed away.

Just before our nice neighbor adopted Snoopy, my grandfather gave my brother and myself a Boston Terrier puppy at his house. We named her Tobi....Tobi's brother was my grandfather's BT named Pug (Pug is the one who started my interest with BTs when I was only NINE! :) ). I remember when I first met Tobi, she was playing with Pug in the house. Tobi was a small BT...and we had her for 13 years from puppyhood to her death in 1991 (she was put to sleep after having a very bad seizure that messed her up). I remember going out in the swing and kicking rocks for Tobi to chase in our backyard, and we took her camping with us, plus celebrated her birthdays and Christmas. :) She enjoyed her snacks and toys too.
Tobi came from a breeder, along with her brother Pug, so my grandfather bought her (as a puppy) for us kids since he noticed that I liked Pug. :) Tobi was the original name for her so we kept her name Tobi.

After Tobi died in 1991, my brother went to look for another BT for me....he and his wife were in Birmingham, AL at the time, and and he met a breeder for BTs. The only thing that bothered me was I found out that those BTs were in the SNOW at the time at the breeders' house -- too cold for them. Anyway, all the little BT puppies looked at my brother, and all backed away except for one -- which was Pepper (I named her that because of her fur color b/w, and she was full of pep). My brother also saw Pepper's parents there too. So he picked up Pepper who snuggled in his arms to keep warm, and he got my cash to buy her for me. I had Pepper since she was an 8 week old puppy up to 13 years old when she died last December, 2004 at home due to possible heart failure from seizures she had. Pepper was a medium sized to a big BT, but very cute face and expressions...and she also went camping with us, plus we celebrated her birthdays and Christmas. Pepper knew how to open her own presents and she enjoyed her snacks and toys.

After Pepper died in Dec. 2004, almost a year went around with no dog....so we decided to have another BT.....on November 27, 2005, my brother found a BT breeder, so my father and I went in my car and drove all the way up to half way of FL to meet the BT breeders. When we arrived, we met a very nice lady and her husband there. :) Then I saw kennels there, and then a nice looking BT was getting all excited seeing us, then I saw a older BT in a kennel next to her, then I saw a little one right beside the younger BT. :) The lady's husband got the little one and showed me the puppy. This puppy is Oreo.....Oreo's mother is the younger BT, and the older BT is Oreo's grandmother. They also showed me the father, who is also a BT, in another kennel (this tells me that they are planning to breed the dogs again). The breeders are for AKC, and Oreo's father won a blue ribbon. Anyway, Oreo is now a 11 week old puppy, and after getting her papers, dog food, etc., we took her home. :) I named her Oreo because she's black and white, plus she has a spot (diamond or teardrop shaped) on the top of her head. She is now loving her new home, with a new bed (pet portal), new collar, toys, a porch to look out at the lake and the animals. :)

Can you tell I just love Boston Terriers? :D

We have two dogs, a hamster, three guinea pigs, a chinchilla, two geckos, and an African Grey. The dogs were adopted from an animal rescue facility, the bird was purchased from a private individual, and the rest were obtained from pet stores.

We also have at least one or two fresh water fish tanks going at any given time. Right now all we have is the big 80-gallon in the bedroom, and there's nothing in it except for a big ugly chiclid somebody gave us for free, and a couple of catfish we got at PetSmart.

Some day I want a pair of capuchin monkeys. But that's a very ambitious undertaking, and one that cannot be entered into lightly. I'll probably wait on that and turn it into a retirement project.

Bought my first fluffy orange and white cat from pet shelter. His name was Bo Mac, and he lived to see 6 years or so. Someone found him on a road, which is unsual considering he's very street-wise.

Got my second cat, Samson, an Ragdoll, from a cat breeder. He's nearly 8 years old. :)

My gosh.. I dont know how to put in this thread...I had too much dogs!

OKay.... lets see. I had 2 German Shephards (k-9 - retired dogs) that the city of town where I lived gave to me because they felt those dogs were beneficial for me bec of my deafness. Got the dogs free. great watch dogs. shredded up next door boy's coat bec he was so mean to me and teased the dog. one day he took his coat off and put on our wire fence, my biggest male dog just took it and shredded it all up. Way go Max. LOL.

My mom got Jack Russell free bec she was runt in the litter, the breeder did not want her anymore, mom just grabbed the opportunity. Koko lived to be 17 yrs (passed away in 2001).

Kasa - got her from puppy mill off from a farm, in Northern VA. I was looking for free puppy or anything, was driving on country rd, saw sign saying free dogs (list goes on for breed). I got curious bec why so many dogs? drove up to the farm, my god. dogs were EVERYWHERE...had to wait in the car bec dogs were barking and jumping against my SUV - no kidding. Esp Rotiwelliers, Dobermans and Germans..mean fangs.

Yikes,, old lady came up and called dogs away, I got out and asked abt puppies. Lady took me to trailer home, there were like 5 or 6 of them out on field, went inside, what a mess, didnt like what I saw in conditions of puppies, I said umm any more? lady took me to other trailer.. when lady opened the door, a puppy doomed off to forest, never saw the dog again - who knows where the puppy went, saw another puppy cowered in the middle of room shivering and hungry. I felt bad. and picked her up, paid the lady like 20 bucks and told her im taking her out. bye, walked away.. lady did nothing bec i knew it was puppy mill. I was so mad... I kept her for long time, she was the best dog I ever had.

Artax - rescued from Shelter. She had rough life, no idea bec I got her at 2 yrs old. she had the sweetest personality.

Mosby - first cat in my life - rescued from animal shelter at 3 months old - he was found on street which he ended up in shelter. no clue.

Spot - first dog I bought from reputable breeder.

Future dog will be a Boston Terrier when time comes, I have researched and know that it will be good dog for me and the boys. and Maybe one more dog, a Lab. Haha I love dogs so much.

First year of our wedding anniversary in 1986, we like to have a breed cat. We went to Cat Show and fall in love American Bobtail wildcat and Bengal. We can't decide ourselves which one, we want to have and too expensive... <_< The breeders of Bobtail wildcat and Bengal gave us our address and phone card to give us time to decide.

It's hardest for us to decide... We went to Munich to spend the weekends at my hubby's school friend's house to celebrate his wife's birthday. We talked about cats... They convinced us why should we buy expensive cat for... Look at poor and homeless cats and dogs who need loving home... They are also beautiful, too... They convinced us at last!!! On next day his wife's sister came to greet her on her birthday... We talked about cats again... Her sister told us that she have a friend who live at farm with plenty of homeless cats around... We drove to there and spot a tabby kitten who go with black kitten... A lady told me that they are close... I told my hubby to not separate them... just adopt both of them... but a lady told us that she have to put black kitten in sleep because she have severe infection in his tummy... We adopted 8 weeks old tabby kitten and named her Sussi...

Sussi is still alive... She is 19 years old last 7th July 2005. She is such darling and too adorable cat... We all love her like crazy...

We have other cat...

On 5th July 2004 of morning - I rode with bicycle to town (4 km ) through forest. I found kitten in the forest. It look like somebody leave kitten alone to starve to death like this. :pissed: It's impossible to ignore him like this to ride my bicylce back to home. No Way. He look scare when I picked him up & put him in the basket & walk 4 km back to home with few rainy.

I bath him to clean. I was shock that he ate the cat food like crazy & also drink milk. It look like he haven´t eat for few days. Poor tiny kitten.

Sussi is not pleased to see him. My boys are too exciting to have him & call him "Rümmel". Rümmel?.. Okay what they want to name him as Rümmel.

Pray that Rümmel is healthy. We went to the vet to examine him... She said it's female, not male... We discussed with children and change the name and name her "Kim" instead of Rümmel...

I am proud mother of 2 furkids... Sussi (19 years old) and Kim (over 1 year old)...

My dog and 2 cats are from the shelter and my hamster and fishes are from the pet store. My foster dog is from the rescue. I recused the dog that what I love about. :D

One of the cats at home was born in our hay barn. The other cat appeared from somewhere one day. Maybe some idiot dumped him. Our goldie puppy came from a breeder. Our fish came from a store. We bought our pony from someone else.

I got Pongo my Dalmatian from a friend for free 3 years ago. Right now he's staying at my mother's barn recovering from an accident. Sirius, my newest dog is a stray Lab mutt my mother found on her door step and she gave Sirius to me last night.

I never had to buy any dogs or cats since I end up getting them for free or they come to me.

I brought my cat "Luckystar aka Kitty" at Petmart on my birthday....I have a rabbit and one hamster left, all from Petmarts...

All the other hamsters died...

My bf kicked me out to go store so he can make a phone call! (What a smart ass lol!) then paged me to come back...so I did and we went to get gas, then zoom...got a little lost but made it. We got to the farm where Amish lived. So I just knew we are going to get a puppy! Jack Russell terrier. :) There were 8 puppies! So that's how we got Tahoe. I am hoping to get Boston Terrier so wait and see.... :giggle:

I received Snickers from the Humane Society. The first year and a half, she was my pet. In the spring of 2002, she changed status and started working as my hearing dog; hence, she is no longer a pet.

I got alot of animals but will tell few. I had MANY of Dogs but dont remember where we got from, what breed. And I got three cats but not sure where to get from too. Some of them died, ran away and we gave up on them.

We got a dog named Lucky, breed Black Lab. I got her from Pet Store. I had him for maybe 4 years and he ran away and got hit by the car.

We got a dog named Sara, breed golden rev. I had her for few years, maybe 10 years but she was 17 yrs old on that time. And, she had problem to holding peeing, poop you know? Also she been vomit all the time right after she ate the food. So, my mom decided to put her to sleep because she been suffer painful and I miss her aton! :(

We got a dog named Lucy, breed Basset Hound and Beagle mixed. I have her right now, since 3 years which she is 4 years old right now. We got her from owner which he is allergic to her. She is amazing, I love her so much. My parents almost planned to give her up because of vet bills, food price. They decided to keep her because they consider her as MINE. Because I grew up and always want to have Basset Hound dog, I love that breed and NEVER have that since until 3 years ago, finally got her. I got excited and been sleeping with her, feed her, walking her, and everything with her. I love her soo dearly! Here is a picture of her which she is between in of my legs.
