When traveling, what have you seen that was odd?

Believe it or not, I just saw a Christmas tree still up moments ago. WTF?

Pure laziness or loves Christmas decoration year around.

My neighbor, few houses away still have their Christmas lights hanging on the outside.
 
I would see a long stretch of road and not find and thing turbocharged. I would then pass one house with 2 cars that are turbocharged. Strange, isn't it?

With ginormous ornaments? The ones I saw were HUGE.

Some people that have ones that are hard to get to leave them up year round and just turn the power to them off during other seasons.
 
I been all over the world and country and oddest thing I bump into a lady in nz then bump into same lady in LA a year later I bump into her in London..
I seen a body being disposed of when on train trip to London(I will put that story under train traval one day)The wierdest thing was my son he drove into DR Who tardiest,bbc were filming forgot it left it in middle of country lane late one night,i believe it gave him big fright...I heard about a person who saw naughty goings on with a chicken that was seen from train a cops called not sure the outcome
 
I live in an area that still has a lot of woods. Lot of homes but on larger lots and a creek winds through and is the back boundary line for them. There is a lot of wildlife activity. The creek has two salmon runs in it and the ducks like it and that brings in predators so there is an eagle and an osprey that work it too. Ordinarily this place is only a stop on the trail for me as I travel back and forth and around Alaska.
So last year I drove down from up North and was parked in my driveway. It was a sunny day like today. My neighbor spotted me driving in and we standing by my truck chatting catching up on the local news. I had the windows of the truck rolled down to let some air blow through the cab.

One of the weather patterns I had driven through had been warm and slushy and my truck was covered with road spray that must have had salt in it. A moose came out of the woods. The two of us were going huh what is going on as it strolled towards us like a third neighbor coming to talk.

We stayed where we were and he strolled on up to a few feet from us and started licking the truck. Kind of strange. It licked all the way around the truck. Moose licks look like big paintbrush swipes. We moved around to the other side and kept talking which with me is not a quiet operation. The moose worked its head in through the drivers side window and looked around the cab and looked at us. About then I started thinking about pictures and of course that is when he pulled his head back.
Any way the neighbor had not ever seen the moose before and when I came back this year it reappeared and lives here on the property. I see him every day.
 
When I was out with Marty that duck pond I saw a kid that was playing hockey trying to put hockey pun into a small hole in the ice. I thought that was odd as it will made the hole bigger and someone ice skate could get caught in the hole.
 
I witnessed a near kidnapping of a female hitchiker in California when I was a child.
 
once there was a weird stuffed animal sticking out of a RV older model few years back that looked too real for an dog or a cat to be stuck on window and flap back n forth in the wind out of that window. it looked too creepy and weird stuck with me thru the years for some weirdo reason


other times funny sights still weird just dont remember them

i just keep seeing weird objects being transported on trucks like wing of airplane too many times on a certain stretch of the highway seriously how many orders are placed to make an airplane in one month? weird ojects I cannot tell you what they were for as no clue etc etc
 
I saw a guy driving a rig made of different old vehicles all battered and old looking. The Volkswagen beetle welded on top of the Ford van welded to the cab of a Chevy pickup like when each vehicle died worn out with the wheels run off it got added to the new old next one.

Yeah, I noticed a house from my view that there is Christmas lights still use being light up in Blue lights. This house is never turn off, probably only daytime but nighttime, it is on. Weird. :roll:
 
Lots of great wildlife. I used to be on a maintenance crew driving up and down the 800 mile long TransAlaska Pipeline traversing the state from north to south. Herds of caribou and musk ox. Lots of eagles, owls, and so on sometimes flying with prey like a great horned owl flying carrying a rabbit in its beak. Grizzlies, wolves, swans, buffalo, moose. A favorite was the black bear sow with three little outrageous cute a few days old little cubs that crossed the highway right in front of me.
It is a pleasure to see these animals. It is not an easy life being outdoors 24/7 through winters in the far north.
 
Need a butt kick (or shall I say nutkick :D)? During a roadtrip to Raleigh, we found a machine that does just that! LOL It is located in a parking lot behind the Angus Barn Restaurant near Raleigh-Durham Airport, (I think on highway 70). Sorry no pix, but how it works, you got to turn the crank that will turn the pulley to rotate these boots in position to give a good kicking! Instant Jess? :laugh2:;)
 
The modern age is just too modern. Machines for everything! I'll take that nutkicking the old fashioned way with tennis shoes please!

You must have cracked up seeing that thing Jess who'd have thought someone would actually build such a thing?
 
Today I saw a pick-up truck with a cross with a dummy crucified in the bed of truck. Thing was huge!!

Both of my sisters came very close to being kidnapped. My older was getting into a strange woman can and our ex brother can just in time and told her to get out away from the car. And a woman tried to get my younger sister in car. It could had been the same woman.
