When relatives come visiting....

Best wishes, RR.....she from the Carolinas?

Yep....always has been a Carolina lady....as for me...Florida beckoned...along with the "hotties" at the Beach....:giggle:

Wow, different hair colors. If she is or was a red head, then she might be Irish as red head have a lot of tempers. The emotion are different than the blond. Red - get all hyper and furious Blond - calm and just want to have fun. That is my way of thinking how I look at this.

At her age, I think she will be fine but she will probably be fussy or bicker with you. Just words of getting back to you. I don't know. A lot can change after 13 years of not seeing her. She may become calm and not bicker anymore. Just tell us how she is doing when she come to visit you.

I hope the relationship is at peace with each other. Good luck. **hug** :)

My whole fam ily were redheads....I was the only Blonde....:hmm:...got teased a lot saying my Daddy was the postman...

Yeah, red hair and green eyes...blonde hair and blue eyes for me....

Blonde hair and blue eyes is a pretty combination. :)

My mom's dad was red headed. My mom and her brother were red headed (freckles and green eyes). Their sister had strawberry blonde hair. That sister had two red headed children, one brown haired, and one strawberry blonde. The brother had two red heads, one blond, and one brown haired. All the cousins had light skin and freckles.

Freckles galore for them...as for me, not very many...

My older sister is coming in 2 days....:Ohno:....spending 5 days!.......inasmuch as I'll be happy to see her after many years, she's a "clean freak"....and I'm practicality even scrubbing the walls....

She and I used to fight like cats & dogs...dunno how this visit is gonna end...but hoping for the best...On a more serious note, she is 74...so...I'm hoping :giggle:...her hair pulling days are long past...

Been looking around for my "tightest" girdle...and my long blonde wigs....where did I put those Victoria Secret Push-Up Bras?.....Sibling rivalry at it's best!...She's a 'red-head', and I a blonde....or at least we used to be....

Who brough up about visiting your home? Bet it was her? :D

You can always borrow one of my Dolly Parton wigs!

I will pass. My sister and I had birthday party for friend of our at our mom's house because it had a lot room. When our door answered the door she had a blond wig and my sister and I almost dies! Mom had beautiful black hair and here she was wearing a blond wig that put on the wrong way . Mom finally took of her horrible wig, but it sure was a shock when she came to the door wearing it . It's very funny to think of now.

My sister and I are pretty tight, there is still some rivalry there but it's pretty much a playful rivalry :) We shared a room growing up which I think forced us to get along...I love having someone in my life like my sister that I don't have to be polite to or treat her as a guest at my house...if she's coming to visit I do absolutely 0 cleaning beforehand and she doesn't even ask if she can have something from my fridge, she'll just open it up and yell "I'm taking a Coke!!!" and I do the exact same thing as well :)

Oh that's a coincidence! Except I'm the red (more like auburn) head and she's the blonde! We do it all, compete for overall looks, social status, even collaborate for a little mischief! We live together, so at this point whether we like it or not, we still try to come up with something in•ter•est•ing... ;)

Hope you can make it for less drama, Good luck hosting your sis RR!

RR, I'm one of 7. My older sister and I are total opposites. We get along great but we live about 3 hours apart so we visit just a few times a year. She is a total perfectionist. Her house is absolutely the cleanest, most organized house I have ever seen. I got tired of trying to compete and with my health just couldn't do it.

Hopefully your sister will realize that you are a wonderful person and lucky to have you as a sister. I hope this visit is fun and maybe get some of those hurt feelings resolved.

Good luck, have fun and most importanly.....just be yourself.

I have a large Irish family. None of us have red hair. My dad had very dark hair and was fairly dark skinned.

Then came the next generation, 16 grandkids for my parents. Only one of those had red hair.

Feel it's all gonna be OK...got her bedroom cleaned, sheets, comforters, pillow cases, etc., all washed and Febreezed....Gonna do a little extra cooking and make a Carrot Cake too...

Feel she's mellowed some...before, she would absolutely not have any pets in her home!...But found out that now, she has 2 Cats.......One other sister is still the same way...no indoor pets....and I've always had pets...

Looks like the visit will be postponed....because of what?....the weather, of course...snow and ice up there....so they might wait until Friday to come....

She must be further north or further west than I am. It snowed but at this writing hardly anything is left on the ground.

She's in Hampstead, right outside of Wilmington, 10-15 miles to the Beaches (except Surf City Beach)....she sent me pixs....the ground is pure ice!...The roads are dangerous....Best to stay off the highways...she'll make another attempt at a later date.
