Oatmeal this morning-- not glue-like.
Yesterday, soba noodles with green beans, asparagus and pork cutlet.
Irish oatmeal or similar?
Never had Irish oatmeal.
I just take 1 cup of quickoats, and 3 or 4 tablespoon of white sugar with 2 cups of water, then boil 'til the water is almost non-existent. If I use more than 2 cups of water, I find it become... very glue-like.
OH, quickoats, okay. Hmmm, did you mean "less than two cups of water"? I like oatmeal.
Not meaning to nit-pick; I just thought that the more water, the thinner it gets. Anyway Irish oatmeal which comes in a can here at Trader Joe's is supposedly a high quality grain. Not sure, but I think by that, it means stone ground so there's less heat generated, thereby retaining nutrients. It takes a full 20 minutes to cook it.Dunno, just guessing.
I don't do exact measurement.

It's really just steel-cut oats, I think, from the look of it.
Yeah, it would be thinner, but not necessarily true when you boil it 'til the water is gone... so...

The chicken cacciatore was heavenly!!! Now I am having butter pecan ice cream with Girl Scout Thin Mint cookies. (still have 24 boxes in the deep freeze.)
Kids and I ate at an International buffet. It was seafood night. So had my share of crab legs tonight.
