What's so great about Firefox?

I like to share with you about this.
You've been using Firfox since version 1.0 [then it was known as Firebird.]

Perpah, did not you know that the previous Firebird is now known as FireFox?!

Phoenix and Minotaur to be renamed Firebird and Thunderbird

Monday April 14th, 2003

Asa Dotzler writes: "After months of discussion and further months of legal investigation, we're finally comfortable moving forward with new names. The new name for the Phoenix browser is 'Firebird'. The documentation and product strings will be updated soon. In addition to securing Firebird, we've also got the OK from those contributing legal resources to use the name 'Thunderbird' for a mail client. Hopefully this will be the end of naming legal issues for a while."

Anyway, The thing that is not really wanted is bashing other browsers just for the sake of it. I love the Internet Explorer been using for a long time. I mean everything looks like IE except changing icons. Firefox does have nicer skins as Internet Explorer be skinned in the same way. Internet Explorer and Firefox skins are getting boring. I am sorry don't be yelling. I instantly like best about Internet Explorer is the fact that it is feature rich and a better IE engine but the skins are not. The Skins remind me of same os windows just better icons. Mostly because not all the browsers supported all the IE plugins I needed. I will always use Internet Explorer. it has plugins, security, and stability. Just the look needs to be updated, the features are great configurable.

Even though, I will have just a downloaded experiment with Firefox in someday!

It is your honest opinion. :) I plan to design my new website, Deaf Aviator to include specific CSS techniques that IE can not comply without JavaScript, but not making it unusable for IE. IE users can still use it, but with limited features like This is Cereal design in CSS Zen Garden. Drop down menu feature is disabled in IE because IE couldn't comply with CSS technologies. If you would like to compare the difference, use IE, FireFox, Opera and other more CSS-compliant browsers and you will see the big difference. :) For anyone who wants technical explanation of how this works, this site is an excellent source for web developers and ones who wants "cutting edge" browsers.

We still respect people who want IE, it's their choice. :)

I use FF browser, I like that one, except IE for windows updater features..

FF browser way top over IE and it's rocks!

I don't see that FIREFOX is a Rock. ITS Slow loading and even I am using high speed. IE just pop up thats fast. I don't see that Firefox can beat than IE's respond. Any reason why is that slow?

Don't delete IE, because IE is integrated into your Windows Operating System. Microsoft built IE into the Operating System so that when it is removed, it will render Windows useless. There are some experts out there that successfully removed IE with so much details including registry hacking, files removal/configurations and such. OTOH, I would keep IE for video relay, and several other incompatibility reasons until FireFox is able to catch up with these things that we depend on.

Never delete it because registry there in your computer!

NOOO, don't try to delete the documents please!!, WildKaTReSS, I had expreince what I did deleted IE Documents off from win 95 for long times ago.. network wont work at all.. i learned something lesson from mistakes. WildKaTReSS, Noo, no, no, no, no, no, Never attempt to delete I.E Documents on window softwares and OS. just leave it on os for rest. But you can do delete it, you have settings in the Windows registry changes, which can be highly

. Yes, I know it is in pain @$$! If you don't believe me, then try do it up to you.

The reasons behind this are another story.

The reasons behind this are another story.

Mozilla from the earliest days of the Netscape browser, the code engine that actually took care of interpreting HTML, (later) JavaScript and (still later) CSS was called Mozilla. This strange name started out as a combination of Mosaic and Godzilla.

Almost every browser identification string still starts with the name Mozilla, When the project to write a new Netscape code engine started, it was named The Mozilla Project. One would expect the goal of this project was to produce Mozilla 5, being the fifth and all the late version of the Netscape code engine, and firefox code engine too.

I bet you were just wondering about Netscape and Mozilla where they come from?! me too! :D I surprise that they are in (nearly san jose) bayarea, Northern California. that whereabout I live in sacramento.

Netscape Communications Corporation and Mozilla, based in Mountain View, California, aims to be the leading provider of open software that links people, information and product

Ohh, that will be nice if we can do it without any complication but wouldn't suggest you to do that.

You can configure FireFox as default browser so that's way any links that you click or whatever, it will open a new FF window automatically for you instead of IE. I haven't use IE for almost 4 months now and FF gives me nothing but peace of mind. That is quite nice.

I like to resource it from the infomations.

F.F users: FireFox browser doesn't have Intall plug-in Mozilla ActiveX control and plugin support and Mozilla Default Plug-in in your computer. Netcape and Mozilla suite have these plugins of Mozilla ActiveX control and plugin support and Mozilla Default Plug-in:

Mozilla ActiveX control and plugin support

File name: npmozax.dll
Mozilla ActiveX control and plugin module

Mozilla Default Plug-in

File name: npnul32.dll
Default Plug-in

MIME Type Description Suffixes Enabled
* Mozilla Default Plug-in * Yes

Tips:
by entering 'about:plugins' in the address bar and press Enter. look at that what you have or not intalled plugins...

For instance, but it is reality

You better careful to notice in firefox's plugins what you don't have it. pffft

Yes anyone can delete/uninstall MSIE the easy way but that is not recommended. I am not going to explain how this can be done on Windows Operating Systems with hurting the systems! :) Microsoft will always make a comeback if threatened by browsers like Firefox.

MSIE will always be far the popular and most-used browser around. I believe Microsoft has a big surprise coming your ways pretty soon - so hang on with your MSIE!

Mozilla has done a pretty nice job on Firefox, but they need a lot of works to do to make it as good as MSIE is. :)

Let compare mozilla and netscape toolbar

I was just started wondering why you nasty said about netscape.. what the different that you browswering Mozilla Firefox which is using plugin gecko code engine as well the rich collection code engine of gecko for Mozilla-based browsers (e.g. Netscape 7, Mozilla Suite, and Beonex).

the way NS Browser automatically installed on my laptop that since I bought. Anyway, I totally discover it from site. I want something show you to look that Mozilla suite using netscape's modern and classic features look exactly like my ns toolbar's feature. below:

Well, IE have lot of holes and slows. FF browser doesn't have holes in it, it's secured to block spywares and pop-up boxes, you should re-read at the firefox site.. that says fast loads up.. I am on cable modem. avg 2.7 to 3.1 mbps.

most ppls uses FF browser. it's cross-browser version on some websites.. just I did add title="blahblah" for image to text on my website. ALT for IE/NS and Title for FF.

I don't believe anyone here is talking "nasty" about Netscape browser. I just decided to download Netscape 7.2 and can see why some people dislike the browser. Netscape 7.2 is bloated while Mozilla Firefox isn't. I never have liked Gecko-based browsers so MSIE is all the way for me!

Gecko-based engine isn't the "look" of browser that you see. Gecko-based interface is the web rendering engine that confirms mostly with W3C compliances. For example, IE based engine couldn't comply with CSS (One simple example is minimum and maximum width flexibility that IE doesn't offer without Java support. IE is seriously outdated as far back as to 1999 to 2000, whereas gecko engines are updated as far back as to 2004. The way IE handles the web interface in comparison to FireFox is a big difference, mostly in security flaws, and everything. FireFox lacks only 1 while IE lacks 16 security features and FireFox is actively working to close that one down.

FireFox 2.0v coming soon?!

Mozilla 1.7.5 Coming in December, interface with FireFox 1 version's Gecko-based rendering engine that confirms mostly with!

Thursday November 25th, 2004
By Asa Dotzler

The Mozilla 1.7.1, 1.7.2, and 1.7.3 releases were all security releases from near the 1.7 release tag. Since then, we've taken quite a few changes into the 1.7 and Aviary branches but haven't delivered those changes in a Seamonkey release yet.

We're planning a mid-December Mozilla 1.7.5 release that will include all of those changes and be a Gecko-equivalent to Firefox 1.0. Web and web application developers should be able to test and certify against either of Mozilla 1.7.5 or Firefox 1.0 and have confidence that their code will work in the other.

For 1.7.5 we are only considering changes that provide the maximum compatibility with the Gecko shipped in Firefox 1.0, and of course any security issues that might be raised in the next week or so.

I've updated the "1.7.x" Bugzilla flags to "1.7.5" since that's the next major release we're shipping. We don't intend to take any changes into 1.7.5 that would break Gecko compatibility with Firefox 1.0 and we'd like to make this release happen quickly so we're also not likely to take even non-Gecko changes into 1.7.5 unless they're security related.

Source: mozilla.org

For me, I assume that this means skipping a number is intended to indicate the 1.7.5 inside FireFox/Thunderbird and the 1.7.5 that will be released in mid December. Just guess... I might I am wrong!

I use Internet Explorer on the PC/Mac and I also use Opera for both. I still see no reason why I should download Firefox, because Opera pretty much has all the features it has and more. It's just a lot of hype around Firefox.

After I saved a website's page, the Firefox 1.0 saved two groups - one file and this file connects to a folder that contains many files. Unfortunately, IE is the only one that saves a single file (html). That is not a good new I personally do not like Mircosoft because it is too greedy.

For example, I saved an alldeaf's webpage. The Firefox saved a file - showthread.php and a folder created a showthread_files. When I clicked showthread.php, it showed up on my software, Dreamweaver. This is not what I want. I only wanted to save a general file for my own personal to view it.

Firefox software is not the only one that creates two groups. Many other softwares have that...

Do you know how to fix this problem?

(I have an Apple OS X computer.)
