Called CAT 5e :)

Yes, it's also called that. (and that is it's rating, by the way). I was just refering to the correct jacks that a network would need, because after all, you can install category 6 cabling as well if you really wanted to run your network on that. But I can't tell you how many times I've seen people accidently buy RJ12 jacks & Cat 3 cable (phone jacks & Cable) at a local hardware store and think they can use that instead to hook up their network. :nono:

Sorry if there was any misunderstanding there.

yep i hate hot weather.. i love cooler weather.. hehe.. dixie is right front will come thru here and will rain again.. tmw will be cooler 60 ...

Your indeed correct, however in old time, you could use CAT 3 to run networking! But plm is nowaday networking speeds much faster than what CAT 3 can handle and can overheat them, so cat 5/6 was intended to handle at much higher speed. CAT 5e is fine. My house is now 100% wired networking, all along with 3 switches and 2 routers! I have three networking zones, intended to solve multiple VP installation. I wish I could have 4, but my broadband provider limits me to 3 public IP address for my account. I could ask for more as long as I get another seperate drop cable and account. But the cost? Forget it.

Yeah, I wired my house myself, I've got more installed jacks than some small business' have, and probably more computers than they do too. But good gravy, it's been a really long time since I saw a network that was slow enough to only need cat 3 cabling, and I'm talking back in the 70's or early 80's there - you know when a 300 baud modem was considered fast?

I take by VP, you mean Video Phones, right?

Yea, I remembered back then when people WOWOWOW at 1200 baud modem! Even worse wow at 32mhz CPU speed. hehehe I still remembered these good o'le days.

ANyway, VP = videophone

I have at least two LAN jacks in each room! Much convience when want to move around, need not to rewire after all. Once installed, Im done! Sometimes I need to do minor adjustment when I need to re-zone, and that is done at central point where 2 routers and 3 switches, and cable modem are located. I have them hidden because I used to have roomate and if they didn't pay rent, I can unplug them without going in roomate's room.

oh well 60s are good training weather for Narcan. He doenst like the heat either even though he has a swimming pool in his kennel.

Also setting up PCs are not hard. People just refuse to read the instructions!

:applause: Yaay! good news! Mother in law called us from Buffalo that she finally got electricity back and her basement did not flood either *whew*!
but some other areas still dont have electricity yet but they will in a day or so...but it is not over..cuz there are still a lot of damages and clean up to do.
Im glad that we dont live in Buffalo....we live about an hour and half from Buffalo.

Today is not my day nor is it my week, month or year.

I get in my SUV to pick DD from daycare up - and battery is dead - wont even crank over. :(

Looks like I'll be stuck at home until I can get a new battery.

Not to worry though, I called mom and asked her to pick Maddie up on her way home from work.

...And, maybe you might need a new starter since the starter's brush is worn out. Last week, my truck won't start so I bought a new battery, and it won't start so I bought a starter. Both works fine so far. Whew! My old battery was 6 years old.

:giggle: @ Deafmommy, You're in the stage of being pregnant and you know what that means? Your mood swings are really showing and that's very common. You'll be in a place where you are exhausted and cranky, I'm sure your boyfriend not yet read the stage of you being pregnant, He should get a book called "What to expect when you're expecting" It's the book that tells everything he needs to know about mother to be, the whole 9 yards, the foods they're craving for, the child-birthing, the mood swings, etc. It's a very interesting book, I'm sure your boyfriend will get the picture why you act the way you are during pregnancy and be more supportive.

I've been in the same position you are going through right now, so I can really understand where you're coming from, You like your space and having someone like your boyfriend for example being all over you, demanding that you both need to talk. He has to understand where you're coming from since he's new to all this, I suggested you this book, buy it for him and let him read it and he'll get the understanding where you are coming from and he would give you much more space. ;)

I have the book and I have looked about my feelings. It has nothing to do with my pregnancy. He is just driving me. He texts me maybe 5-10 times a day if I am not online. When I am online, he will not text me at all. GRRRR! He gets on my nerves and I love him but he drives me up the wall. He gotta give me a break without him bothering me. *Sigh!*
