Ive worked two jobs before, both of them full time, and that was a chug. By friday I was zonked, but thankfully neither required me to work on weekends so I still had my weekends to do whatever I wanted. :)

Yes indeed it is a small world. My friend who live in LR- his son is deaf. So definitely different person.. ha.

Yes I live near Plumerville- 11 miles from there! How cool is that you go to Blackwell to buy alcohols as my nephew and his family live in Blackwell. :)

I think I saw you driving around Morrilton before but I didnt see your dog. hmm. lol.. It would be cool to meet you sometimes! Did you attend Ark. School for the Deaf- I wonder? I did and graduated there in 91.

I love dogs. I used to have a lab name was Tuffy and he was a star in the Christmas Play at ASD in 86. his stage name was Holly (he is male? lol) sure missed him so much! :( Now I have one dog and his name is Mac. he is a cocker spaniel. he is almost 14 on nov 14th. He is deaf and partly blind. He used to be my hearing dog (not trained though by deaf agency but I did).

I will pm you and give you my name to see if you know me or not. Ok? :)

Cool - no I did not attend AR school for the deaf, although when my parents first realized I was deaf in my right ear they actually thought about sending me there (was 3 when they realized it so I cant remember a whole lot)

because I had gone so long w/o aids they realized I had also had already accustomed myself to the hearing world. I could lip read extremely well, mute the TV and I could still tell you what the dialogue was.

when I started reg. public school at Danville, they just made sure the teacher placed me up front so I could see and hear clearly.

In 2nd grade my hearing started to deteriorate so they had me wear special headphones and the teacher was equipped with a microphone so I could catch every word she said, I made honor roll that year, BUT the kids were jealous that I was getting all this attention and they werent so I no longer got to wear the headphones, the next year my grades bombed, and every year after that.

I didnt need remedial classes as my IQ was fine for my grade level each time I tested. I just often did not understand what the teacher was saying. Finally in 9th grade I got a hearing aid but it was a flop as I was hearing too much background noise thus I was still not able to understand conversations in loud places as when the sound got above a certain decibel the hearing aid would shut off. So my audiologist said dont worry about the aid if you can lip read, but if you think you need it go ahead and put it on. Ive not used it since, but I have noticed my hearing going downhill progressively. I may go back for a thorough hearing test when I get the money and insurance to pay for it and see about getting a digital hearing aid that can be fined tuned to my needs.

Your parents should have took u to go to ASD.. jeez at them! oh well .. :(

I am sorry about your hearing going down progessively like mine it had gone down especially in my left ear. My right ear is starting to. Right now sometimes it sound like muffled like I am underwater. I have Meniere's Disease. I was going for Ci but they want me to try digital hearing aid first on a trial basis which is next Thursday which I am looking forward to. :)

You can go to VR and ask them to help pay for your hearing test and they may help you get the hearing aid? Who knows! Not hurt to try and find out. :) Good luck!

I thought that I should tell you that when you take a hearing test. Just make sure that you never let your audiologist to test your hearing in a room with very loud sound that can makes your more damage on your cochlears. Most audiologists are very wrong to say that it is only for a test. For sake, it's your ears. It does not matter if you are deaf because it deteriorates your hearings later on from the hearing tests - and because you might have force yourself to buy powerful hearing aids someday so you would not want this happens.

I am off to go and pick my son up from the school.. I got the letter that my son was chosen as a student of the week this week at his school. It said that his picture is displayed on the wall in hallway so I am going there a bit early to check it out! :) Congrats to TJ.. :)

Have a great afternoon yall! :)

I had a big headache around my left eye and had to take a long sleep. I see that heath ( both physical and meantal) is most important. See ya later, SG :)

Wow never heard of Meinere's Disease.

As far as I know I was born partially deaf and alot of the early testing and diagnosis was done when I was very young and so I cant remember a whole lot.

I wish I knew more of what was going on. Maybe I should try to dig up old records and see if there is a pattern and talk to audiologists and other doctors and figure out what is going on.

But for right now I need to focus on getting a job and getting insurance that will cover such things. An audiology test can cost out the wazoo since it is a specialty and often requires a referral from a family physician or other 3rd party to get one.

One thing I have noticed is that my deaf ear seems to have a shallower canal than my hearing ear something Ive noticed all my life actually. I dont know much about normal ears but could there be a structural deformity that causes me to be deaf in that ear??

Again snow is here so beautiful! Sun break through clouds and gleam shiny on snows what awesome sight!

Good Tattoo Advice:

Lol! I agree, Most of my friends regret having their boyfriend's names on their body part as a tattoo, and when they're no longer together anymore, they're stuck with that name on their bodies. I wouldn't even do that, If I had a tattoo it would be either a drawing picture of something or my children's names. ;)

If a couple are married then marriage tattoos are fine !!!!! :fingersx:

What if they end up in divorce then what? It's better not to have husbands/wives/boyfriends/girlfriends names on their body expect their children, mother or father.
