Well Ive got my laptop back from the shop and turns out it just farted really big. The computer guru said he couldnt find anything wrong with it. I told him exactly what I was doing when it gave me the blue screen - I was browsing through music on iTunes. He did everything he could do to forcibly cause it to repeat the error.
But other than that life has went on as usual.
The other day at work a hispanic lady got her finger caught in one of the machines I work on. I was busy doing my thing when I looked up and noticed her arm caught in the machine and my boss went over to her then motioned for me to come over. I first thought she had skinned her arm, but when I looked the machine had just 'ate' her finger. It was smashed flat between the top belt and the plastic diver piece, right before it actualy goes into the skinning part.
I had to hold the blades up with one arm, I was comforting the woman as best I could and told my line boss to go find a maintenance man with tools, we've got to get this machine apart to get her finger out. So she went to find a maintenance man, and with my free arm I was taking pieces out and pulling plates out and directing others to grab that and pull, grab this and lift etc. Then the maintenance man got there about the time we got to the piece that required a tool to pull apart, he undid it and immediately it fell in and the woman's finger was free. She's just lucky the machine didnt pull her finger completely off, and ironically its not broke, just badly smashed and bruised.
Then my boss came to me yesterday morning and thanked me for helping her and asked how I could stay calm when everyone else was flipping out. I said Im a former EMT - I was trained to stay calm in those situations and to take charge of it. Then I had the biggest smile on my face all day yesterday and you couldn't wipe it with a bomb.
Today I am going car shopping with my father to see what is on the ground. Not buying yet just looking and Im leaving my checkbook at home!
I'll keep you guys on the progress.

Good on you for being calm attending to an accident at work ... may I ask how come you're working at a processing place and not as a EMT? (Is that correct Emergency Medical Technician?)

Man! Just got back home with another motorcycle. Perfect need to part out so can use both fairly new tires on my motorcycle and will use my motorcycle for the summer! Can't wait to get my bike running once again.
