I have finally been matched with an Academic Advisor and I have decided that I will be taking only two courses this semester. One is Algebra which I will take on Tuesdays and Thursdays at night and I will be taking an online composition class. My advisor is currently out of town but the secretary said she would be back next week. So Monday afternoon I will send my advisor an email to schedule and appointment to register for classes. It may be possible for me to have her do it via email by telling her which class and which section I want to be in. Given than I am only taking two courses, it won't take long. Shoot depending on the bill, I may not have to take out a loan for this semester if I can have it paid off by Christmas - which could be a good thing in the long run.
Next semester I will see what other courses I have to take then go from there. I have a feeling though I may have to transfer to UACCM next year to ensure that I get all of my basics done and taken care of. With UACCM being a community college they may have more night offerings than ATU does and ATU is more of a traditional 4-year university. It would be nice however if ATU would allow for a full degree to be completed online, but until there is more demand for online courses, it won't happen for a few years.
After the spring semester I will contact UACCM and see what they have available.
