It's not because of SSI/SSDI. It's because it's easier to keep track.

Even though all my credit cards (plus storage & rental) have different due dates, I can rest during the whole month knowing that I've already paid my dues during the first few days of the month. ;)

I have friends who freak out because they wonder if they paid their credit card that was due on the 10th, but have another one that's due on the 18th and another that's due on the 28th. They pay one, but a few days later... their minds are confused enough to make them wonder if it was the one they paid a few days ago or the one they paid last week. :eek:
