What was the last movie you watched?

Alrighty, it appears that I'm the only one who is noob when it comes to cameras.

Did you watch the first one on Blu-Ray? I've wanted to see it from day one and the DVD doesn't have either cc or subtitles. I check on Amazon just now and it doesn't mention if the blu Ray version have subtitles? Am I wrong? I really want to see that movie.

I downloaded both movies. The first in DVD quality and the second as a BR rip.
Well, I looked thoroughly online and from what I can tell The Collector DVD has English subtitles and CC listed on the case. The Collector Blu-ray does not include Subtitles. So I would go with the DVD.

As far as The Collection goes - Both DVD and Bluray have Subtitles

NEVER rely on Amazon or other sites to list whether or not a Bluray as English subtitles. Try: Blu-ray, Blu-ray Movies, Blu-ray Players, Blu-ray Reviews instead.

I've been waiting to watch American Mary for awhile but I had to wait for proper English subtitles to uploaded - Anyhow, It's enjoyable. It's not mind blowing or anything but it's definitely worth watching. From the early posters, you would think its a bloodbath but there's really not a lot of gore. That happens, sometimes posters or movie trailers can be so misleading.

The First Time is really quirky and its a rare treat ultimately. It's a lot more intelligent than the majority of coming of age/romance teen comedies. The chemistry between the two main protagonist is fantastic and feels genuine.

ah so you use torrents?

I own The Killer on VHS, UK DVD, and I had the US Blur-ray but eventually sold it 'cause the English Subtitles just differed too much from the other released I've watched and grown fond of. All three versions I own have different subtitle tracks. It does get a lil confusing. Especially the characters name changes.

Oh, I didn't notice that. The movie didn't have either subtitles or cc before. Now they do, yay!

The other way to know whether or not they have cc is looking at dvd artwork like you said. You said to never rely on Amazon, why not? It seems pretty accurate to me.

Just watched The Avengers on DVD for what seems like the 435th time. Joss Whedon can simply do no wrong in my book ( cue rant about axing Firefly....)

That happens, I had ChungKing Express with Brigitte Lin in Mainland version, HK and U.S. I liked the HK version the best of all three.

For the most part Amazon is accurate but there's not a any guarantee that just because CC/subtitles is listed on their page, the DVD will have captions/subtitles. I returned a movie just last month because the site stated it was captioned when sadly it was not. I had to pay to have it shipped back also despite its Amazon's fault. That's false advisement

Also, I've been purchasing a lot of VHS lately from Amazon and occasionally I'll notice CC is not listed for a particular movie when I know captions are available because I've seen VHS scans provided by VHSCollector.com - Your Analog Video Resource that clearly indicate the movie is captioned. Shits a hassle. I always double check to confirm whether a movie is captioned by Google searching for images and confirming the artwork pictured on Amazon is identical to the scans, etc. It's a hassle at times. Most US DVDS have multiple releases - Not too mentioned imported editions - and each edition slightly varies. Rambling

I watched Argo last night. All I have to say is "Wow"!!! It's heck of a movie!!!

I did see an old 1966-1977 Bronco in it. Also what seemed like a brown 1979 Chevy Impala sedan.

I won't discuss the story. You really have to see it!!!

yep seen it, and it was one of the craziest pull-off they did, but what else could you do?
the escape is just wow....arent saying anything...but talk about nerves of steel
great movie - hard to believe it actually happened.

Yeah, I never knew about it until I saw the movie. They almost got caught since they flew away. WOW! If they got caught, it's possible that they would be killed instantly. Who knows?

I was in suspense for the whole story!!! Wow!! That is some escape!!

I watched Skyfall recently, and although I don't care for the Bond character, I loved Judi Dench. What a nice send off.....

For those that don't know, she's going blind and was having too much difficultly with the role and wanted out. She was the best thing about those movies for me.

That sucks, man! Thanks for letting me know even though I never went through it myself. But I'll for surely thinking of you the next time I shop at Amazon.

"I always double check to confirm whether a movie is captioned by Google searching for images and confirming the artwork pictured on Amazon is identical to the scans," - I brought H20 from Amazon and the artwork was different. Also I ordered Tales From the Darkside: The Movie from a third party seller through Amazon and the artwork was different, too. It's accurate most of the time like subtitles but not always.

I don't know anyone that still watch VHS. I always tell Mom to get rid of those VHS movies (most of them are children movies for me and my brother when we were young), Mom'll never get rid of them and said "No, I'm keeping them for your baby nephew." Isn't CC from VHS fucked up? Because every time I watch a movie on VHS, all I'm seeing is "jisnsjwj heavens kaindjd kilmer. Pishsh gail Hsiang jdoh". I thought, "What the fuck am I reading?" Ha.

Yep, I watched Skyfall recently as well. It was the first Bond movie I seen with Daniel Craig. I cried at the end, plus M was my favorite character. After watching it, I really like the movie so I decided to watch the previous movies that I never bothered to watch, Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace. I can say Skyfall is Daniel Craig's best bond movie.

Sinister - the opening really does made me cried. I don't know about you but it got me really emotional. Anyway the movie is pretty good but I got a couple questions that some are left unanswered.

The Loved Ones - if it wasn't for my best friend, I wouldn't have this movie. It was found for a dollar at block buster that was closing down. He said that this movie is a girl version of Otis and I most definitely agree! Good movie. "Apparently the audience loves to hate me. When I see the screenings and everyone cheers when I get kicked in the face or injured, I think “you really hate me that much?”" -the actress who plays the killer in the movie.

I now finished watch all the movies I own. Ugh! I watched Pontypool again that I already watched a couple months ago, it's a really good movie. The whole movie is taken in one place which is at a radio station. The talk host keeps getting reports of bizarre things that is happening in his town. If you just read what is being said about what's going on out there, you will have no choice but to use your imagination. I think using your imagination to visualize what's happening is more scarier that way. It's a nice psychological horror film and there is a movie similar to this is called "Dead Air" which I have not seen yet, though I want to.

I'm a fan of Joss Whedon but I still have not seen both The Avengers and Firefly. When I was reading reviews about Firefly, pretty much all of them brought up about how pissed they are when Firefly cancelled. That alone makes me want to watch it.

Wow those films are going way back and one of Brandon Lee's too...I prefer the original Cantonese for The Killer - a Chow Yun Fat classic.....

Laura

yes a Chow Fat classic, what about "Hardboiled" that was good too, i think it was done by John Woo, im not sure...
