What sounds...?

Yes... 30 decibel and then the frequence. Personally I don't understand much of it but I read a lot about it :giggle: I don't know if that makes sense at all... So maybe anything below 30 decibel is sounds that you can't hear? (that's what I mean).

Yes I live in France :D But moving again in about a month *grumble*

JL (who is very sleepy and off to bed now)

sounds of 0 to 30 db i cannot hear (quiet) 30 onwards i can with CI,

If you look in my Blog, go to September, there is my aided Audiogram at one month post activation that tells you my hearing Pre CI and post CI

Oh dear, Where are you moving to?

Yeah, it's our bed time (you are 1 hour ahead of me) and america is just finished their lunch... Suppose we get all the gossip in the morning... Good night.

I've been reading bits and pieces of your blog! I'm so happy to read that you seem to adjust so well to the CI to a point where even the docs are amazed by your progress :D

I will read some more over the weekend when I have more time! Thx!

I'm from North of France near the Belgian boarder... a tiny village with not many people but still close enough to Reims where I currently work!

Just wanted to thank both of you for helping me out with this and taking your time to answering my questions

Yes I read that several times... about the first sounds being very metallic and high pitched as you said! I have tried to figure out what it means. On several websites (no clue which ones since I have spent some time around) there were links with audio video giving us hearies an impression of what a person hears with CI.

Not sure if this is information you wanted as I do not have a CI myself, but I was very seriously persuing it last year ... I learned the same from everyone else about the "metallic" sound, and that was an area of concern to me. Because with hearing aids, I get a lot of help from that, but obviously the sound is still muted/diminished compared to what hearing people hear, but at least the sound I get from my hearing aids is supposed to be "natural".

(I opted not to do a CI based on my word/speech discrimination scores and based on what my CI audiologist said, in case you were wondering.)
