Wow that little?! Jeeze.... I know out of the 20% I pick up they aren't spelled the same and often have a slightly different sound. I just guess they mean similar and when I look into it I find they do. In a conversation with a Spanish speaker yes, I pick up much, much less than in a song. If speaking to a Spanish person I say I'm where you're at around 5 maybe 10% recognition. In the song I posted the main verse uses the word ecou which in English means Echo. In English it's pronounced EH-Koh and in Romanian it's pronounced IH-Koh. Slight differences make a world of difference! Same when I am trying to understand Spanish, little differences like that. :P I have a friend that is Cuban and I can understand him better than I can someone with a Mexican dialect if that makes any sense.
