Bit of a backstory to this song. This is a British group and the song is about the Margaret Thatcher government and how it employed union-breaking tactics in the 1980s. Union groups felt betrayed by former allies and those in power.

The song is also ties the struggle to a famous English poem about the fate of a division that rode to certain death in war.
