I'm thinking of buying sidekick next month..

I'm wondering what kind of plan you have and are they worth it?

I'm wondering if any of you have Data only plan? since i don't need a phone :D

Data Only plan - 29.99 a month. After obligatory fees (tax), it averages out to about 33 something. Still worthwhile, in my book.

i bought sidekick last march end, then april one month not pay so on may i start pay bills, mine was $28.27 :) .. i dont need the phone in there either!! most i use is AIM and EMAILS... most time i use it..

good girl, it's very important to have "phone". So fast to contact than e-mail or IM if hearing don't have AIM account. Because every hearing carry cell phone. From what I hear lately, most deafies don't know how to use text message on sidekick.

yea it hard some deaf people use text massage cuz some of them don't read books first, they ask me how to use text massage i ask them did they read book first they say is it there i say yes the book is everything u need for the sidekick

I can see the instruction most to talking about the phone. It causes Deaf people confuse to follow up in the instruction when they tried to connect with the service. I have to do look at the instruction while I was doing step by step.

Of course, I was awkward how can I reply and send compose message to other ppl. My friend explained me how to do it. After that, I love it... I was chatting on aim last night with my two sons while clients were doing on their own. It is worth to have aim to chatting with my sons to see how they are doing. It makes me feel secure. :D

Thanks sidekick :ily: I can use ip-relay.com to call to my sons or their teachers at school when I am running late due to jam traffice or stuck with meeting. The technology is so amazed !

Try to check on www.help.sidekick.dngr.com it would be helpful with your technology problem or resolve with your annoyce from scum emails. I am not sure if it is correct url address.

I heard, that website to help to resolve problem with sidekick.

Sidekick is great but Blackberry is even better -- see my post:

http://www.alldeaf.com/showthread.php?t=9194

(IP Relay works on the modern color Blackberries now, but it costs more than on a Sidekick). If you have $$$ to spend, Blackberry is much better and more reliable. And all four chat networks, including AIM, ICQ, MSN, YAHOO

If you prefer an all-in-one package that's easy to install IP Relay on, keep using the Sidekick. (It takes more technical knowledge to install IP Relay on a Blackberry, but if you've installed software on a PocketPC or PalmPilot before, and purchased software online via computer before, then you're skilled enough)
