What next store to be closed nationwide?

The title say...

It will be Kmart and Sears likely to close nationwide with few years, so what about others?
 
Kmart and Sears already closed near my home. I heard JC Penney is going to be closed soon.

Same here about Kmart, but there is 1 Sears right now.

Last Kmart will close in July 2017, so no more.
 
Kmart, Sears, JPenny and Radio Shack are already closed in Houston, TX
 
Sears Holdings biggest problem is it's being run and controlled by a hedge fund manager named Eddie Lampert. He's basically the village idiot of retail. One of the first things he did when he bought Sears in 2005, was stop the Sunday adds and say they were going to have everyday low prices. Well that scared the customers away pretty quick and they have never come back. If he were smart he would close half the stores they have left to raise needed capital and then turn over the reigns of the operation to someone who actually knows retail management and see what happens. With his retail experience he's basically the captain of the Titanic and it's going down! If Kmart had stayed with their original lowest price and satisfaction guaranteed they would probably be where Walmart is today. The minute they changed their policy, they started their slide into oblivion.

Some of Macy's closed down already... I hope it doesn't close nationwide for the sake of U.S. jobs.

Kmart is very successful and thriving in Australia and New Zealand, but it is separate company from US.

Kmart went downhill in 1990s with first store closing round in 1994-1995, so they aren't profitable since 1993.

The went away from their guaranteed low price and satisfaction guarantee in the early to mid 80's. Both of my sisters worked at Kmart at one time and in the mid 80's the founders of Kmart started to retire and turn the reigns over to new leaders and the stores began to change and they were on a steady downward spiral from that time on until they filed for bankruptcy in 2002.

Sears will do whatever they can to stay in business for at least another year and a half. If they close earlier than that Eddie Lampert will have to pay back some of the loans he secured to keep them afloat which will cost him billions of $. No matter when they close Lampert will make billions and in the process he will put a lot of people out of work and force a lot of the former retired Sears employees with a pension into the federal retirement program where they will make no more than $25 grand a year, probably much less.

You means blue light special discount? They ended in 1991.

Kmart screwed up after bought Borders, Sport Authority and Office Max, so they sold all of them in 1995, I think so.

I'm predicting that Sears and Kmart will be disappear by no later than 2020.
 
My sister worked for K-Mart for 55 years and retired on her own terms but she saw the writing on the wall....she was one of only 6 who went to Chicago(a honorary gathering for 50 plus employees)and enjoyed herself.......

Sports Authority was bought by DICK"S not KMART,
And Kmart brought back the bluelight specials, just don't hold them as often as they used to.

Kmart bought Sports Authority in 1990 and sold in 1995.

sports authority just went out of business this past year, I went to the liquidation sales and bought my camp tents and stuff at next to nothing prices ($400 tent for $125 ect...) And they were bought by DICK's SPORTING GOODS, everything was disclosed in the Bankruptcy filing on the businesses
don't know what youre posting about with kmart years ago, I'm talking recently. Heres my facts

Please read carefully, there is difference about past and present.

I replied to you because I had to clarified my statement.

You are correct that Dick's own Sports Authority now, but Kmart used to own from 1990 to 1995, so partially contributed to Kmart's failure.

Sears doesn't save Kmart anymore.

Nope, sears is fading and craftsman tools are china made now so eventually sears, kmart and craftsman will be gone. Home depot is carrying craftsman hand tools now but no power tools. so Craftsman is struggling to stay afloat with desperate measures it seems?
BestBuy was supposed to merge with Sears but that has since been tabled as well.... eventually everyone will be shopping online as even food is being sold and shipped online in refrigerated trucks and insulated coolers. Amazon, Walmart and a few others are doing this already... Talk about a new generation of Fat people due to no exercising to get to the stores.. Just eat sleep and shit in the comfort of your own home without leaving your bedroom to shop and survive.

What you means about nope? Is it about Sears save Kmart?

I don't want Best Buy to buy Sears, too much risk and Best Buy likely to survive with fewer stores, but zero chance for Kmart and Sears.

Some groceries like Publix is thriving nowadays. There is no grocery delivery in my area yet, but of course, a lot of grocery delivery in DC metro.

I saw many gyms popping everywhere and I don't know if Gold Gym is going take former Kmart and convert into gym, or could convert into church so no idea about what next...
