True but laws are only useful for people who would follow them... Much like a guiding hand. Which in turns follows that people who break laws would do the same actions regardless if the laws are there or not. Laws are nothing more than social acceptance standards... Laws do not really control people, people control themselves in whatever manner they deem acceptable. With laws also give the expected punishments that can be expected...
However, this means diddly squat in life... If a man wants to kill the laws do not stop him... If a woman wants to sell drugs the laws will not stop her... Sure we all know its wrong and laws are living representative writings of societies beliefs, morales, and values....but still they are useless.
Establishing that they do not stop crime, then one can argue that they deter crime through punishment... On this maybe a little, but for the vast majority they do not care. It is a game to most criminals as well as a way of life.

What percent of Americans follow the laws? If it's much higher than criminals, then the laws work. For example. how many American males out of millions raped a girl? That proves that the rape law works. If there was no rape law, that means we, all men could have raped them whenever we'd want to just like ancient times in which men raped women and nothing was done about it because there was no law.

So does this mean if the law was taken away you would rape the first attractive woman that you saw?


... Just because there were no laws against it does not mean a man would rape a female just because there is no law. His own morale grounds would determine if he did it or not. Morale grounds that would have been established from childhood and anyone he has encountered throughout his life. It is what these social standards that influenced the man would deem his actions regardless of the laws.
Alaska has laws against rape correct? Yet the native woman are taught what to do WHEN, not if, they get raped. Why? Because it is the social standards that determine the mans actions and what law enforcement will do about a crime. It is considered a social norm so long as no "damages" are done everyone looks the other way. No I do not support this, it is only what I have found to be true in this instance.

It would depend on how you define clothing... If it is adding decoration or covering of the body than we are not...as for you list of mammals...there is a longer list and even going outside of mammals there is an even longer list of living things that have sex for pleasure...

Doesn't it make you sick? They don't have laws against rape but there are laws against raped women.

The laws do not dictate what I find...as you state...sick or not. My own personal beliefs, morales, and values do...
Yes, let's look at speeding. :) I know about me....how often to you go over that limit and by how much? Is it determined by who is on the road and how they are driving? Traffic is much like society.... No cop or know to be a copless area sure they go quicker...but still not unreasonably.... Except for a few.... The laws really do nothing but offer a guiding hand to those that will listen...

.... Let's look at a few things.... Have you ever had a dog? Especially a male one? Hmm yep it has sex for pleasure. Elephants as well are on that list and often even engage in homosexual behavior also while in bachelor groups... Hmm also, scientist have deeply looked into sex in human yet are still scratching at some points within the animal kingdom... Masterbaton is sex and unless I miss my mark it is sex for pleasure...yet off the top of my head I can name the several birds and mammals that go solo quite often...
Now many animals will fashion "toys" for their endeavors ... But humans are the rare one that finds ... "Completion" thus on can say the others are only for pleasure of it while humans seek the results...
What you are looking at is a common and narrow misconception. That is trouted as fact just for the simplicity that it offers.... Various mammal have sex and sexual practices on one side of the gender of the species and not on the other ... Thus people and educators often stick to just apes and dolphins....but to look at a larger picture there are more ...so many more... :)

unfortunately we do need some laws or have anarchy and anarchist can be misguided but not on everything.
the example of little girl this week who father hit her so hard so often and gluing her teeth back before social worker came then punching her so hard her little lungs and heart went through her back all the sexual abuse to me it black and white the creature who did that needs off this earth asap do I believe in death penalty no I don't but could I personaly kill this creature I think I could and that why we need laws so I could not kill him(sadly)

But is it the laws that keep you from hunting this man down or your own morales, beliefs, and values? While I can say that I would shed no tears for the death of this man...I also know I am completely incapable of killing him unless he was actively harming another child... Even here I would not seek his death rather would seek only to stop him....and yeah add in a few extra owies perhaps but not his death. But again if his death happened due to my actions I would not shed a tear of sadness...but would still feel shame for lack of control and the loss of a life due to my actions... Here it is not the laws that stop me, rather it is that I find life precious.
 
i agree with you it is the laws that stop me but i would not stop anyone else if they wanted to kill him and that the delema it make me hypocrite and i suspect millians like me

I not explain myself very well,i would be big hypocrite saying I against death penalty but hoping someone else do it.
it getting harder and harder to be against it when read some of crimes...we all going to die you just giving him date of death and his death more comfortable than victims..i would keep him away from all human contact basic food like bread and water the light on all the time not allowed lay on his bed during the day then after few years ask him if he want death penalty he then has made the chose

FYI, if there's no speed law, there would be so many deaths on the roads. Thus that's why we have laws to reduce deaths from car accidents. Don't you see?, if no speed law is enforced, that means everyone can go over 100 mph which can lead to death. A few of them? You fail to see what's going on. There is A FEW of them because there is a law. In other words, no speed law = A LOT of them. You want innocent families dead on the roads?
