Jake, I know what you're thinking, and all I have to say is GET OFF YOUR HIGH HORSE! Certainly there aren't too many people here who make a ton of money (white-colllar) but who gives a shit? Personally, I love learning and academica (I want to maybe become a women's studies/deaf studies professor) but, sometimes I feel like the orginal Educated Idoit. I am smart yes, but I don't really have any indemand job skills, the way many blue-collar workers do.
As for the topic...I am currently doing nothing. I am on SSI/Disabilty b/c I can't afford hearing aids and so I get lots of financal assistance with college. (VR even helps pay for my books!) I'm attending college full-time and also am a freelance writer (working on a piece for Newsweek on why insurance companies should cover hearing aids)

DD, Actually you're wrong! I think it great that many people here have jobs! You'd think there'd be a long list of SSIrs in AD but guess what, many here have jobs so congrats to you all!

Its just that I feel sorry for some nice people here that unfortunately work for a *hitty employer. But on the positive side they'll get the experience and move up to a better job!

DD, you'll get employed sooner or later because I don't see you as a lifetime SSDer. Of course, jobs will be more available when Dean takes over.
