What is your profession?

Zone hydrologist for 1.3 million acres of forested watersheds which includes all of Mount St. Helens to the west, half of Mt. Adams to the east, to the north a part of Mt. Ranier southward , north of the Columbia River and all the forested splendor between them in Washington. Get paid to drive and hike out in the open country and play in the clear water of rivers, creeks and alpine lakes. Half of my time is spent outdoors while the other half on report writing, answering phone calls, video conference, etc. Other duties include Burned Area Emergency Response (BAER) for post-fire mitigation work as a hydrologist specialist or team leader. And, oh, I did some forest fire fighting with a team of 20 fire fighters in Idaho and Washington since 2001 as a certified forest fire fighter (now "retired" to focus more on BAER work which is just as dangerous while fire is still burning on the ground).

Goal? Become a professional ragtime pianist as I get closer to my retirement (and own an Estonia grand piano and player piano someday). Life is one big classroom, you never stop learning.

I currently studying my final year Bachelor of Design (multimedia). I have been studying for four years and completed 3 different courses. I want to be animator/ motion graphic design. :-D

My major is in 3D animation (Bachelor's of Fine Arts). I have 22 months to go before I graduate.

I am just a high school student for now. I plan to get a part-time job soon to save up to go to university in 2 years. Right now I am thinking of doing a double major... political science (or Canadian studies) and law. Not really sure right now. I've also thought about business law (corporate lawyer). I've got lots of time to decide. :)

I am halfway to becoming a big old mud wrestler...

Ready Jiro?? Wait, Jiro is still group hugging under his desk maybe....

nah, I am a mail room clerk at the university. I pretty much do the book work and data entry. I can work the counter when its easy. Usually they want a book of stamps or to mail something. We have student workers who mostly work the window. I can operate the machines cause the noise is not bother to me.

I'm an attorney. Anyone want to hire me? Texas or Colorado only.

I used to be a math teacher. Any one need a math tutor? Right now, I mostly torture my son with math tutoring. It's the curse of being the child of a math teacher. My son is doing so well that he doesn't need me very much, though.

Boeing pays ridiculously higher than NASA

My friend worked for Boeing and Lockheed Martin, he said Lockheed Martin paid higher and much more fun to work for. But he said that Eaton is best aerospace engineer related company to work for, very deaf friendly environment.

Linux/Windows Systems Administrator.

Also, Webmaster for ShatteredTears NOC, as well as Systems Operator for Digibase.

... uh, I think that's about it. Oh no, wait.

Tech Support and Network Administrator for my household. >_>

I'm migrating the network to a corporate-grade environment since I prefer the security and excellent setup of a corporate network environ.

... That's about all, really.

I am now the President and CEO of Eidolon Hosting.

I am currently transitioning to work with Exiled Systems in partnership with my company, Eidolon Hosting.

My network is still in the process of being migrated to a corporate-grade environ. I've yet to set up a RADIUS and LDAP server to authenticate users on the network. :/

But anyways... I also do Remote and Onsite Tech Support.

i'm a full-time student right now. i still don't know what i want to do with my life, but network administrator is the best option right now.

Good luck on that one. ;x You'll need a CCNA certification.

Full-time interpreting student. Currently, I work at the Melting Pot, tho. Maybe somewhere along the line I'll get a teaching degree and be inspired to teach some sort of Social Studies. History?

<---3rd shift O/N stocker at the Walfart for almost a year.

Before that, I was doing Quality Control and Merchandise Support for Goody's for 13 years before I got laid off 10 days before Xmas 2008.

I had to take a HUGE pay cut from 12.55 an hour to 7.65 an hour and specify that I was available for work on any day Walmart scheduled me. I got lucky they hired me on a month after I got laid off. 6 months later I moved over to 3rd shift O/N Stocker cause I found out walmart didnt give 90 days raises and I would have to wait a year for one. Moving over to 3rd shift forced them to give me a raise lol.

I think Walmart's loving me more doing Pets Dept. Guess they just made my dept assignment almost permanent cause I was doing Pets faster than the last guy who did it. I havent told em my secret yet, but I can say...Cats First, Dogs Second!

... You're a lucky one.

I do Technical support... but have yet to find a company who seems to want to hire me either as a Remote Technician or as an On-site Technician. :/

... Especially considering my hearing. :/ Which is fail in my opinion.

Used to work as a medical file clerk in high school. Worked at a vintage british car restoration shop. Worked at a high performance car shop. Now presently working at a research corporation building units/equipments for demilitarization and nuclear plants. Or rather, the branch of that corporation, building wildland firetrucks and whatnot. One man crew for the most part.

I have no idea... I suppose the only way to do that is to be a valuable asset to them (for investigation purpose) or to know a friend/family member to get you in.

WOW, you did luck on that one. I work desktop support and it is not so deaf friendly. Mind you I just got the job and my hearing is still degrading at a rate I can still answer calls (with a few repeat requests).

As for what I do for a living, I work desktop support as I had just said. Where I work, I do not think it will last if my hearing gets worse. So, I have started going back to college to change to an engineer.

industrial/commercial electrician

Work in the construction field. I am doing what I have wanted to do since just before elementary school. Being a construction craftsman. The work side has been great, the social side not so good but has worked out well anyway. Several years in the exploration drilling field early on as well. Loved it but even worse than construction for a home life. Now am trying to sort out what next? There is a freedom with working for contractors- the job ends and it is free time for a while. Hard to go to a steady job after a lot of years of that. But am finding myself bored with it and will find something else.

It's got to be tough being on the phone. Sorry to hear that you have to change your career. Good luck with engineering. :D

I am a Patient Care Tech, student, and house cleaner.
