I recently found out that I have some Mi'kmaq Indian blood from my father's side.

The vast majority of Mi'kmaq people lives in Atlantic Canada where I grew up.

My father, six sisters and I have applied to the Federal government for native status card.

Can't say the composition because it's 300+ years of mixed Europeans with a Dutch surname-- keeping to themselves. I know it's a religious word, but after so many centuries-- it become its own ethnicity and language since they (historically) kept to themselves, moving from country to country avoiding conscriptions.

I can only guess German, Dutch and Ukrainian based on the loanwords of Mennonite German (or Low German.)

You know there is a Mennonite church exactly one block from me. They don't seem to keep to themselves. I walk by and see the pastor's wife putting up inspirational sayings on the board, the pastor mowing the grass..

Once I even stopped to tell her she misspelled, and she did not jump back in terror from my deaf voice, understood me and corrected it.

In the heart of the country here we have a lot, and I always understand the Amish regard the Mennonites as sinfully modern. They can also be seen arriving in automobiles (not buggies) each Sunday.

Totally non mysterious and quite non exotic. ;)

Hence... the word "historically." In my family, they separated themselves from the mainstream 'til the '50s. (Grandma mainstreamed on her own in the 30s.) Even then, every church is different as far as "technology usage" go-- and er... That in itself is complicated. Amish are... odd folks. Not so much for technology, but the dialect is not mutually intelligectilble at all. Even then, they are from the Swiss ethnic group-- ours originally came from the Netherlands-- which suggest completely different lingual paths.

If it wasn't for the fact it's estimated over half of Mongolians are descendants of Khan... and it's estimated 1//4 of Asia's population is descended from Khan.

That what raping and pillaging will do... leave you with a lot of illegimate sons.

not my problem. That was Genghis Khan's doing. What a foolish man he was.... Lot of those illegitimate sons are bums. Well despite of that - many women wants Genghis Khan seed. The thing is - very few with Genghis Khan seed is worthy of nobility.

lol good question...my gma has the blue eyes and my moms got hazel..my nonno has hazel too and my aunt has green...i am the only one out of my half bros and sisters to have blue eyes :) i have a bit of green in them too haha but mostly bluee:) and thanks frisky:D
