Let's say that I'm asking $75 for a bike. Someone offers you $60. You tell them that you cannot do $60. 2 days later, you decide to do $60, but they have found something else already. I would like your feedback. What do you think is the odd that people will jump on your offer after few days?

Only you can decide what bottom-line number you are comfortable with. It's probably best if you decide that up-front. It takes away the worry that someone will go elsewhere. I ran into this situation recently when I made an offer on a house. We offered 5k less than asking price, and then learned there were 5 other bids on that same house. We re-offered and came back at full price, the 5k more, and we still didn't get the house. But we decided that was our bottom-line number we were comfortable with. We ended up buying land instead and are starting construction on a new house, so it all worked out.

sometimes you have to just kick yourself and say do it....
Do you really want to lose a sale over $5 or $10?

I know if its a rare bike, or newer, maybe be more firm... but most used items...eh?

Maybe you could had said you would take $65 , the person was trying to see how low you would go and most likely wanted you to come up with a price between $75 and $60 . You lost the sell when you said you could not do $60 and of course that your rights . I guess you need to polish up on your bargaining skills , and do made your price on your bikes so people can made a lower offer ? It would help to made your prices so can lower and not lose and money and the buyer will think they got a bargain . And some may feel the price is fair and pay want you're asking.

Bottom line: the buyers nowadays are not a patient bunch and will move on and look elsewhere

...say Id bone you for free and 60$ stands double bonus for her (and you) lol

That's what negotiations are for... To make a deal.

I remember the time I broke my vow to never use the bank again. I qualified for a loan to buy a small house. That was a lot of hassle and I learned how disgusting the credit system is. Anyway I am bidding on this crappy little house with a view of an old coal burning power plant that would have been shut down anywhere else in the US except here in corrupt Alaska. I was sure I had it dialed in exactly being psychic and all.

It turned out I did BUT there is a bid thing the realtors can write into a contract called a Slider. Whoa. The slider is a predetermined amount that your bid will automatically go above the highest bid. The Realtor likes to see you go at least a grand of course. The thing is another bidder can have a slider as well and you want your slider to beat their slider.

I was ultimately glad I failed. I was pissed off at first.... sliders... what bs.
The thing is when you are a buyer and you do not get the deal you want it is just like that woman you tried for and failed. Usually it turns out you dodged a bullet and saved a pile of money. Anyway it is late I am rambling and am off topic.

I was considering saving money and try for bidding on auctions. I dont have credit cards dont believe in them and that hurts my credit score. BS credit system needs total rehaul .
