George Bush better get out of office ' he don't like us deafies. one little hint to all deaf people out there . when the deaf and hard of hearing people stand together , the hearing do listen. no affence to all the the hearing people in this site that do understand and understand that we are all the same people just different capabilities. thats all

oh don't start a club in Maryland, oh nooo....

why not have a club in Chicago or Dallas, so that
all of us can fly over there close by....

and I hate club, because of smoking problem...

why not have something like a resturant...
where you can serve momos, salmon and cracker,
some snackers with cup of all kind of tea or coffee...

Maybe some cookies, donuts, and sodas and fuzzy naval drinks...
and ice cream, oh yeah.

And have a book club and books for all deaf people to read...

Some tables and chairs... very very nice...

And show deaf movies too.... or movies with closed caption...

Would it be cool.

And maybe ask deaf people here to help ya with financiallly set up the fun place.

too far for me... too many deafies in MD...there is one in va. not so great.

at the deaf club here in MN they have different types of things going on each weekend.

They host meetings for deaf organizations (such as NFSD (frat), MDC (mn deaf campers), MDA (mn deaf anglers), Sno 72 (snowmobiling organization), etc etc. Frat meetings are always on the first saturday of the month.

They also have games, bingo and mingo. A lot of people set up a table for card games, like 31, bullshit, etc etc. They also tried movie night every friday (free, bring your own food.)

But for the most part people come to sit and watch tv, chat with old friends, have a beer or 2.. It's also got a bar with pop, beer, wine, junk food (candy, pizza, popcorn)

You can really go anyway with your own deaf club. But it takes a lot of time, people, money and commitment.

Thompson Hall (aka the deaf club) in St Paul, MN is much like CCD, but it is free, and there is less music as it is in a residential area and not commercial. It's also free to get in to (unlike deaf clubs across the country, which makes its the only free deaf club.)

Hope that helps. :)

Oh 2 more things.. most of the people who go to Thompson Hall are 30+ in age. :) just to say.. young people get bored, they rather go to real bars with hard liquor, and more people their age.

AND there's no smoking allowed in the club. This was voted a few years ago, and people got upset about it. But then the City of St Paul (and Minneapolis) passed the smoking ban, so there's legally no smoking allowed.

 flaunting is such a disgrace...

we have the aloha state deaf assoication, known as the ASAD huge events every yr, this yr's the sign langague festival ill be going to that... but all in all

if you want to have that sort of thing happening by all means have fun.. consider the cost value and most of all check with maryland infos like DPHH and BPHH and ofc get information and my best bet...... start off small ok? cuz u don't wanna be burned out!
