As long the package is not open, it can keep for quite awhile.
I have never eaten it except from a kosher deli and it is not in packages, just in a glass counter.

You buy them in like a tin-foil like package. They don't expire for a long time, however if you open up the package, you need to keep them in the fridge.

They're a favourite among kayakers who dislike beef jerky.
And since Vancouver is literally is Chinatown... dried pork is also popular among backpackers who don't like beef jerky.
Is it cheaper? If so, I'd certainly want to try those.
Oh c'mon, it will just hush them up and help them go to bed early on fancy ham dinner nights with guests.
