What did you learn today?

Just learned that one stick butter is = 1 cup of butter. No wonder a few of my bran muffins fell apart! recipe called for 1 c of butter and I put in 2 sticks.

Really? Just the butter you have right now? I thought a stick was 1/2 cup (but, since I rarely cook/bake, I always look on the paper to verify).

Just checked my butter wrapper and it says a full stick is = 1/2 cup so you're right. I think perhaps I should have put in less butter or mixed it up a bit more.
 
I just learned there's a lot of nonsense on AD.com......
