She's in the North end of this great country and I am in the Southeast. We finally got to turn on the A/C this afternoon, but only after the inside reached 95. It is 83 outside with 56% humidity. All things considered, that's dry, but still muggy and icky. It looked like it would rain earlier this morning, and just now we had thunder and lightening. No rain at all.

Do you use swamp coolers or refrigerant air conditioning in FL?

Well ya know - I tink dere's a swamp cooler in de grage festering wit bugs an all.:laugh2:

Actually - MIL has some kind of wall unit A/C with a high powered (supposedly) motor. It's supposed to cool the whole house, but you have to put it down to 60 and freeze out the dining and living room just to get it into the 3 bedrooms.

I had one in El Paso. I just realized it would not work well in a humid climate anyway.

It was just a thought as they are much cheaper to run than refrigerated air.

That's damn cold! :cold: I remember once it was -35 with wind chill factor in Richmond Va many years ago. I just stayed under the covers the whole night. It's not something I'd care to have again.

I'd never be able to sleep at all if the room temp is 95 or even 90 degrees. I speak from personal xp. I've had the AC break down on me and room temp reached 95 to 100 degress. :eek:

I agree you!!! crazy on cold very child change weather fool, tomorrow new warm weird on adjust to warm and cold opposite crazy warm!!! it is very cold pretty sound damn freeze your car ! that is not safe! be careful safe drive!

I learned that Anchorage, Alaska isn't dark all day as some people have said-- it's Northern Alaska that gets dark, Anchorage is like any other city!

I learned how to set up my new dvd player :D

I have turned it on multi region feature and I put in US region dvd. Interestingly, the one with CC feature did not appear on screen, however the dvd with English subtitles appeared on screen with no problem.

Australia, unfortunately, does not have a dvd player with cc decoder inside it.

I think it is the TV that has the decoder. At least that is how it is in the USA.

Right, I been to Alaska where we (me, my brother and Dr. King) camped out about 120 miles south of Barrow. We only get about 2 hours of day light and the rest is all dark. As you may noticed the sun move across horizonally instead of going above us.
