What did you learn today?

I learned that the antibiotics they give you after surgery can mess you up pretty bad. I discovered that first hand over the last few days.

Which antibiotic? I found out eons ago that I'm allergic to sulfa. Found out a few years ago one of my daughter's is too. We now list that on all medical sheets that ask if we have drug allergies.

Ceftin.

TCS and I are both allergic to penicillin, and we have that in our medical records, too.

I hope you get over that soon.

Have you contacted your surgeon's office to let them know? They may want to switch the meds for you.

Our trash is not going to be picked up this week b/c of the storm .
It's going to be stinky in our basement. . :eek3:

yah, I actually went to the ER two nights back to rule out infection. The ears are pretty close to the brain so they weren't taking any chances. They didn't switch my meds though so that sucks. My choices are pretty much take meds that will make me sick, or risk infection.

I remember the Blizzard of '78, the Boston area was at a crisis point, it took a long time for them to dig out, people were pleading for food and supplies as they weren't prepared for that one.

As much I as can be . I wanted to buy more meat but I heard if we do lose power it could take a couple of days to get it back b/c it will be too windy to work outside . I do have tuna fish, canned soup and I made some hard boiled eggs and I have plenty of water for my dog and me. Marty has a whole bag of dog food too. I am making ice cubes to use in my cooler and I have those blues things too. I don't take any meds but I hope people that do thought about refilling theirs .

My mom lived in Marblehead and she said the snow was up to her door . I was living Berkeley , California at the time. I went to school in Maine for 2 years and we had some good size snow storms .

The Great Groundhog Blizzard of 2012 got me stuck inside for 3 WEEKS. There was so much snow that walking was nearly impossible. The day of the blizzard, I went food shopping just mere hours before it started. Perfect timing, as I stocked up well for that one.

Hope you guys are alright. I saw something (for if your tap water is potable) that you can put in your bathtub and fill up, and it'll hold the water instead of it just sloshing around in the tub. Like a giant plastic bag...

But I digress, I'm sending best wishes out to everyone in the northeast.

That plastic bag thing is a good idea as most bath tub plugs don't hold the water that well for extended time. Slowly leaks out, ask me how I know.

It's for a Deaf Studies class, but it's on generalized diversity.

Well, that might be better than economics. At least better than the class I took many years ago when the teacher just sat at his desk and read out of the book. The subject was boring enough w/o having a boring teacher read to us.
