What did you learn today?

I learned a good lesson today-- don't ever rely on the desktop version of Chase Banking. My mobile app and the Desktop version are showing a nearly $111 difference in my account.

 What are you doing?

Don't forget the severed artery that was a whopper and a half

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! See what I mean... WHOPPERS!!!

I almost forgot about that huge lie he told, thank you! God, I remember that one... Whew, that one went on and on and on and on.... just trying to save it like a sinking ship moving out butt loads of water with a tiny bucket...

So yes... anger... I has it...

Said it was severed from when his friend threw a rock at his leg! Oh yes, it's coming back now...

well don't rely on the mobile version either. Both the desktop and the mobile app are based on the same coding principle- only difference is the programming language used. I have never had an issue where one lags behind the other (I have both desktop and mobile app for my bank). Don't know what the reason was or why yours showed that other than WHEN you accessed them. If you accessed both the desktop and the mobile at the same time..maybe (seriously who does that?...) but if you accessed them at different times of course there's going to be a bit of a delay in updating. Not everything is real time processing.. some of it has to go through batch processing overnight.

the severed artery? Missed that story.. maybe it's good I did...oh wait...:dizzy:

That may be true, but when I checked the account, and based on the math I had done, I knew how much there was supposed to be, and the mobile app had the correct amount.

Never had an issue with it myself, either. Been with Chase using online banking for many, many years. Of course, he does tend to find issues with everything.... So, you know...

The artery being severed... yes, be glad you missed it... whopper of whopper lies... next to the resuscitating a lady that then wasn't him was a licensed medical professional... magically people change identities, appearances and become different people! :D

well like I SAID CB.. it's a matter of WHEN you checked it.. it doesn't update instantly like in seconds. There could be reasons why there might have been a difference... doesn't mean that the desktop application is at fault.

BUT at least you did check to be sure of the balance in your account.
It could be the other way around too... that the desktop application was correct and the mobile app is wrong... don't lay it all on the desktop as "it can't be trusted!!!11eleventyone!!1"

err on the side of caution but don't be paranoid.

It would be different if he didn't come in here posting incorrect information night after night. I started out when he first joined being nice to him. Then, kindly correcting him once and a while. Then I moved to being firm every now and again... Then he started going on and on spewing incorrect information constantly and lying. ( saying he once saved a woman's life and when called out on it by Scott and I saying he did it incorrectly, all of the sudden it wasn't him it was a licensed medical professional ) and various other astronomical lies like that. Not little ones, but WHOPPERS... Yes, I get angry when people lie a lot... and I get angry when people have to one up members that come in here to say something about their day innocently like Reba or Angel and then he has to burst in and one up them and take away from something they may have really needed to vent about or just get out there by one upping it like he has to everything else. So yes, I call him out... if he would practice being truthful and not being an attention grabber I would practice being nicer to him. Anyone else notice I am typically rather supportive and encouraging to others? I don't enjoy being lied to or others being lied to... Too many times I've seen crap happen and people taken advantage of by people like this... I refuse to sit by and let him fill peoples heads with crap.. So yes, I will call him out. If he'd just be honest, admit when he doesn't know something about something and practice being a real person who doesn't have to one up everyone and be HIMSELF, I would more than gladly support that and be kind. Until then, he can deal with the repercussions of his actions. Any member who has PM'd me or spoken with me one on one knows I am incredibly kind. You're seeing me lashing into someone who is putting all this junk out here, and that is all. He's the one doing it to himself, he can make the steps to improve. I'm a very direct person, if someone does something to make me angry ( lying, over-exaggerating, creating drama constantly, one upping everyone in existence, having a story for EVERYTHING and giving minute to minute updates on every tiny thing they do ) I'm going to say something... He posts SO much of course there is going to be a lot of replies...

I need a hobby? I don't have 8k posts since late November....
just ignore. Nobody but you takes him seriously. Do you really think you are the only one who can see his errors?

Call bank and let them know about really unusual bugs.

That's not an unusual bug at all.

If he had refreshed or waited a bit I bet the amounts would have matched up.

one incidence does not make it a bug. Several incidents would make it a bug. That's from years of experience as a tester.

It is not my definition about bugs, but it is actually from Mark's definition.

I checked website and phone app, so balance is same for me.

Ah! you have a point there.

My brain is still in morning mode (aka semi functioning)... ;)
