What country is very good to the deaf people?

I have met deaf people from Sweden and from their descriptions, it sound like a very good country to them. My friend also visits there every summer and she wishes she can move there.

Yeah I remember some story about it. It would be nice to visit Sweden to experience there.

Yes, Sweden has many provisions for deaf and disabled citizens to ensure that they are able to find work and live independently while still offering services to help them.

I have a friend that lives in Sweden, although he is hearing, he might know more about the kinds of programs that the Swedish government offers to its deaf and hoh citizens.

Doing what? Kitchen duties??? Clean-up duties??? No shooting the rifle?
I am not sure if they are still do it today but I met two and they told me all 18 years old in Isarel were required to join army. They went thru all basic training and etc just alike everyone else..
Plus they fluent couple of languages.

I've been told that some deaf Israeli soldiers took a part of invasion of Lebanon in 2006. :dunno: And I can't find the links to support this claim.

I found this on line about deaf education in Russia.

How Russia deals with deaf children

As in most other countries, the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th was marked by the radical turn towards oralism. However, the all-Russian ToD conference in 1938 condemned the oralist approach to education and called upon the return of signing in schools. Soon Joseph Stalin accused sign language of being "not even a substitute for language" which ensured the removal of signing from the classroom. Twists of history including the perestroika time (1985-91) did not bring major changes in the deaf educational system.
