What changed our lives since the 50's until the modern age of 2008?

Dixie, OH! You are right!

???

The only reason I recalled this is because we have an original Suburban behind the shop that is rusted down with a tree literally growing through it, LOL. I'll have to get a pic of it to post here.

Green vehicle is 1950 Chevrolet Suburban.
Dixie, I will see your pic of it in your post. no worries. I had rode my folk s 1957 station wagon since my childhood. I have my reason of it in my post.

I miss the old days, knowin' that we will never see them again. They were the best than the modern days.

yeah because times were 'simpler' then. You know there were no 'grey' areas in life. It was all black and white in the sense of right and wrong. Kids respected their elders, families were less prone to be dysfunctional, while it seems as if it were all jolly, each era had its own problems, whereas with the 1950s it was the threat of the 'cold war' and nukes landing on US soil from Russia, thus why nearly every house built in the 1950s has a basement level.

And I believe I just wrote the longest incomplete sentence on alldeaf.com. LOL. (my brain is not functioning well this morning.)

Dixie, Do you have find picture of old 1950 Suburban yet?

No, I havent gotten out to the shop yet. But I may have one later this evening.

My dad's 50's Imperial (maybe 56-57). (The color is faded; it was two-tone blue.)

Reba, I always love old fashion pictures, and I really like those pictures of cool car. Awesome :D That girl is you, right? She looks so cute, so that boy is. ;)

It always so amazing how the time changed so faster than I imagine...

You know glasses, right? Thicken glasses in the past, now we have so lighter and thinner glasses. :)

EDIT: Here pictures.

:ty: The girl is me. The little boy with no hair in the b&w pictures is my brother. The other boy in the color picture was a friend.

My parents always kept my brother's hair very short until he was a teenager. Then we discovered that he actually had very curly hair, almost afro style! We never knew that, ha, ha. (As you can see in the pictures, my hair was straight.)

Karissa, I see the "present" glasses -- it seems out of the modern group. I have a modern galsses, which is a boxy alike. But you might see these bold thick modern frames at the stores, no? That would be the present modern glasses of today.

That Imperial was a cool car. I hate to think how much gas it used. At least it was much cheaper then!

Glasses definitly got much better! The old lenses were so heavy, it made my nose sore from the glasses frame sitting on it.

We have video games, microwave ovens, computers, cell phones like Blackberry with internet and texting.

All these have improved the quality of life tremendously.

Sprawl to density and space saving technology, streetcars to light rail trains and better acceptance to diversity
