Hah. And I just found out that "The Lovely Bones" film is due in 2009, starring the young actress who plays the main character from the film of "Atonement." I think it's kinda ironic.

This isn't so much a book I recently purchased, but a book-made-to-movie I purchased last night. It was John Grisham's "The Rainmaker". I absolutely LOVED the book, I absolutely HATED the movie. :( They took so much good stuff out and even changed a little bit of it. I've not seen John Grisham's movie The Runaway Jury yet and now I'm a bit unnerved about it. :(

true, I love the books, too. But i can't explain you guys, because it is a german Books :)
anyway, I love only thriller, crimi books
"hilary Norman"
"Paul carlson"
"stephen kings"
"John grisham"
"Frank Mc Court" the ash my mom,
and more more more ;)
But, I am reading my book part of 7 "Harry Potter"

Sunshinelady, when I was reading your post I recalled a novel that fits your favorite sub-genres: thrillers and crime novels. That book is The Girl Next Door by Jack Ketchum. Understand that I have not read it (yet) myself but my numerous book-loving friends tell me it is terrific;they tell me that it is one of the best in its league. I own a copy and hope to read it ASAP.

Read the reviews prior to buying it or reserving it at the library. I would get a library copy myself just in case. Ketchum's book may be a novel you enjoy: This is only a recommendation. :)
