OMG! thanks for reminding me! I have to go find the alarm clock add-on for banjo and souggy :ty:

I'm thinking about hitting the ignore button on my FB, I have 96 requests, I've nixed a shitload of them and yet I still have 96 requests.

Wow! You are soooo popular! Everyone wants to be your friend!

He does and he's the only one that can hear it. I have to start the coffee and pack the lunch and make sure he gets his meds before work. He hates to take any meds and he has heart problems.

Usually my morning routine only takes about 5-8 minutes, then it's back to sleep for me, it's just messes up the sleep cycle. In January he will be going to 2nd shift for 6 months. That's even worse.

I am thinking about how glad that my lesson plans for the rest of the week are already completed so I can socialize more at work...:giggle:

I'm thinking about how I would try to keep homework to a minimum as a teacher if possible while still maintaining the curriculum and keeping my students on par with the dreaded benchmarks.

I enjoy giving out tons of homework! I need to because my students dont get a lot of learning at home due to not being able to communicate with their parents so with homework, at least they are spending time on learning instead of just sitting in front of the TV all night without interaction.

True, but at the same time what if the student needs help understanding parts of the assignment or needs extra help at home that the parents cant or won't offer?

I give them homework that is 1 grade below their independent level.

I used to give them on their grade level homwork only to discover with dismay that a high percentage of their parents cant or wont help them with their homework which in turn increased their frustration level. Not worth it because I do not want to give them any reason to start feeling so dismayed about learning and shut down so I changed my ways. Since then, it has worked. I just identify those whose parents who can sign or those who can use oral skills clearly with their parents and give them SOME homework that would require some parental help. Those whose parents have abusulotely zip communication with or non-involved parents..I give them homework below their grade level. Even if they did it wrong, at least it teaches them personal responsibility.

You know - I don't exactly understand what's Learning Disability. Does it prevent you from learning stuff? or just that it takes much longer than normal to learn something?
