Yes. I use Hostel International hostels (2 so far - Chicago & DC). There are other ones too.

The leaves are turning color here too. I was watching the birds taking a bath and a squirrel decided it want drink of water and the poor birds bath got cut short. I think the fox is coming around here for the water and apples . He left his calling card right near the birdbath and I just about stepped into it ! GROSS!
 
Everything is still pretty dry around here. The golf course we live by turned off their sprinklers. Looks horrible. We are still having temps in the 90's. So ready for cooler temps, Fall colors and RAIN!!!!!
 
I am thinking about who to root for in NLCS. I do not have any idea yet.

Just got back from a trip to the Maine Mall, I would say we are pretty much at our peak, just lovely. I enjoy going anywhere this time of year. I was so worried we weren't going to have beautiful colors this year, glad I was proven all wrong. I don't remember such spectacular reds, so intense!

When I turn off the main highway on to my road, my heart does a leap, that's how gorgeous my road is, in all its beauty!

I am hoping the leaves won't fall off before they turn color , the drought was very hard on the older trees . Are you starting Christmas shopping early , I heard on the news some people are already done.

Yup, I'm an early bird with the shopping, mostly done! :lol:

I also dropped off some hand made quilts for Project Linus at Mardens. I don't know if you have Marden's down your way? They are a surplus store where I get some of my fabrics at a discount price for the kid's quilts that I make. The quilts are given out to The Barbra Bush Children's Hospital in Portland Maine.

I got fabric today to make a cute Christmas quilt.

I never heard of Mardens , I don' think we have any around here. That is very sweet of you to do. I haven't even asked my daughter what she want and my daughter pick out gifts for me to give to my granddaughter b/c it's so hard to know what size she wears or which toys are cool or not . I can't
up with all the new toys coming out .
 
I don't know if America has canals and the narrow boats,I been on narrow boat few days and my thoughts if hell exists is 4 adults two kids in narrow boat going through centre of London trying do locks..the next boat I want get on got have cruise in the name

Hell in England was crossing the English Channel from France on a boat when I was a kid.

Felt more like dying than any other time in my life.

Now that you can just drive through the Chunnel it's probably not so bad.

It's our 28th anniversary. Going to dinner and a comedy club. No clue if I will be able to hear at the comedy club, but I've been wanting to try. It's really loud there.


It's also the 26th anniversary of the Loma Prieta 6.9 earthquake. What a horrible day that was. We moved from the Bay Area shortly after that.
