Seems like I missed some drama related to stalking here. That had to be scary if someone was stalking someone here on AD. I would hate to live in fear like that.

thinking ABOUT TIME moderators are doing something now and taking it "under review". PMs with them before was a grueling battle..

There were some posts made by a new poster alleging stalking. The thread's closed. I think that was a good idea as all of that was "alleged". I don't think AD was the appropriate place for this.

For anyone feeling like they're being stalked, 1) change your number and/or email address 2) block unwanted calls through your telephone company - it can be done! 3) file a police report 4) press charges if you have true evidence. This goes for both men and women.

That's my piece.

I don't know details about my friend, but clearly you've never been stalked before - I had stalkers before - to the point where police told us it's not a problem, 10 or 100 emails unless this person makes a threat after filing reports. there is no 'true evidence' until, of course, someone gets badly hurt or killed. :roll:

and needless to say, the pager I have cannot block spammer/stalkers so I thought if I changed it, he'll find it again then game goes on. I just don't see the point of changing my e-address I've had for 10+ years anyway.

think in all directions before you start bitching "your pieces" to others, please.

Wait a minute, missy. You don't get to assume anything about me. I was stalked for 15 months four years ago. I know what I write of. It was hell, and I did everything I said in my previous post. Taking some action does work. Maybe you should be the one to think first before you assume.

sorry. clarification, bitchy and bitching is at least a difference for me. often people post and make things look easier without thinking twice when it's not.

okay ally, so you've been stalked before -- doesn't not mean it works for everyone. as you saw, matajan was still around - hopefully was now - and he still talks about my friend, matajaneta and several others. maybe you should think not everything you did apply or works for every state or everyone. there are many different stalking laws around this land.

AC when you went to the police what did they tell you?? My incident happened long before anti stalking laws went into effect... we finally got him on theft of services-- back in the day when you could reverse charges from one phone to another number... dumbass used MINE... rather my parents number... that was the last straw my mom did what she could but it took a girl getting killed before any kind of 'stalking' was acknowledged there... just wondered what they told you to do, b/c I couldn't just change jobs, move and quit school and that was the suggestion we got.... I really think his folks were the ones that stopped it after the theft charges were filed....

Am I wrong? I mean, what he was doing was annoying, but he was not "looking for" or "stalking" anyone on AD. He was asking questions (although annoying questions), but his actions, to me anyways, were not stalkerish.

Mtajaneta clearly just joined simply to post to matajan, so she (or he) was stalking matajan and not the other way around.
 
Take some deeeep breaths. I know its tough not to react when someone irritates you either directly or behind your back.

No matter the definition of stalking it cannot be an easy thing to deal with those uncomfortable feelings at all times that may never go away. Its too bad that crap had to go this far here and draw in a bunch of people. I sensed some danger weeks ago, as per one of my posts in a thread stated that in so many words. Im sure there was issues with the individual long before he ever became member of AD, but many here only indulged his passion for attention and validation. I hope appropriate steps can be taken by members and administration to not endorse this type of behavior :(
