I wasn't feeling well yesterday morning at work as I had eaten at Taco Bell the night before and it made me sick. I was having to go to the bathroom every 30-45 minutes it was that bad. Well I got up and went to work anyway thinking it would eventually just run its way through my system and I would begin to feel better after a while. Well I was tired, sleepy, etc. There was a big skip in the line where there wasn't any chicken on the line for forever. I told my inspector that I was going to lay my head town to rest for a minute and to let me know when the chickens start coming around the maestro so I could be ready. Well my inspector said she yelled "the chickens are here", well I didn't hear her and I didn't hear her call for a leg quarter, then she stopped the line. Well at that time I popped my head up and I realized there was chickens all in front of me and all the way down to the 3rd inspection station. I grabbed my scissors and marked the leg quarter she pointed at that I had missed then the line started back up. They said the line was just down for a split second over that. Well I look down and two of my supervisors are looking at me like "WTF was that?!?" Well about 15 minutes later another trimmer takes my place and one of my supervisors said I needed to go to personnel. And I thought "dammit, now what?" So I go to personnel and I go into a back office where the supervisor and another lady was there. They asked me what happened, and I told them what happened as I said above. I also made a written statement and signed and dated it. I was given a 3 day suspension for "sleeping during scheduled work hours". Well today I found out that when I go in for my 'hearing' on Monday at 8, I will be terminated. I'm so pissed I can barely think straight.
I will go ahead and let them terminate me then get my unemployment started that may or may not cover my ass until I am able to find something that pays well and is stable. For the time being I am dropping out of school because I do not have the money to cover the spring tuition without a job. I have put in my application for USDA-FSIS to go into USDA inspection and tomorrow I will hit bricks at the major factories in Russellville such as Firestone, JA Aluminum, Mahle, etc.
so complicated....still figuring out how to use it....
