It is a lot of fun, the next time I go I will take videos.

Haha, steinhauer- that give me funny memories. I been to that historic in Dahlonega. I actually almost did nursing contract in the little hospital there once. Also locals laughed at me because at first I used to pronounce it wrong :D

Its a neat little town. The Gold Museum in downtown Dahlonegha was built with clay bricks from the soil around Dahlonegha. There was so much gold in the soil, that gold nuggets can be found in the bricks of the building.

Pictures of stuff I found:

There was a real funky dude sitting on that porch playing a banjo - gave me an odd feeling so I left. He asked me if I could squeal like a pig (?)

I am thinking my friend is right, her grand baby might be deaf :D

Urrrgh.....there is stupid nasty fire in hills of the southern Salt Lake Valley. I don't think it is quite the area of Boulder's fire (not yet) but smoke is everywhere and blanketing my house too, very troubling smell, both for trying to rest as well as asthma. I used to live in condo very near the fire line now and found my old neighborhood was evacuated earlier this evening. AND my cousin who lives by my old place text me earlier to say HE and his family got evacuated, and even now MY sister is here because her apartments were evacuated. I have watched the fires a couple times from the roof of my house and its really sad as I can see balls of fire flaming up high whenever the fire reaches a house and sends it into flames. The air is very very dry and very windy today which didn't help. This fire started around 3:30 PM and its mind boggling how fast the fire consumes and progresses. I am sad for those families who have already lost their homes, and surely I will find out soon or later that some familys who lost homes to the fire I know. Especially if my condo neighborhood goes up. Have many nice people and families living there. I pray hard tonight that cool front will pass and change the strength and direction of the winds as well as cool temperatures for tomorrow. Maybe we can limit the damages with help of mother nature and God. With a fire that is so ferrocious though its hard for ground fighters to effectively fight and make fire lines to help contain becuase its too hot and fire moving too fast. Helicopters have had significant difficulty delivering water from the lake to fight the fires because the wind is a logistical nightmare. Lets hope when we get up tomorrow that we have some good news.

wow, a lot of fires going up lately. prayers sent.

There are a couple more of fires going up around here too. It doesnt help today was 96 and tomorrows gonna be 93 degrees

Yeah PFH I agree.....watching a forest fire or wild fire in which no houses or structures are danger of burning is one thing.
Than actually having a wild fire that is burning so fast and so hot, treating it is near impossible and other strategies need to be employed. And then to see 1,000s evacuated here is sad enough and even loved ones have to evacuate too. I am praying for some miracle resolution to stop burning structures and the weather change enough to give the upper hand on the fireman and national guard members who are there trying to stop the progression and contain the fire.

I am thinking of my office mate and friend who will move to another unit this week or next week. :( It is truly necessary for him to do so cuz he is under heavy stress all the times while having some serious health issues. He is only 25 years old.

Am I, really? *looking under me*

Doesn't look like it. However I do live a hour away from Sovereign Hill, and I'm sure there are still gold waiting to be discovered. Panning for gold was fun even though, I ended up buying a little jar of gold dust when I was a lil girl.

Must do that again someday.

By the way, PFH, good job on the washer boards. Sounds like it'll be a fun game to play.

I am thinking, there are times when Murphy's Law sucks!!

Last week, the day I mopped the kitchen, my mother drops a jar of jelly and it shatters and jelly is everywhere. I get to sweep and mop it again. Just this morning, I swept and mopped, and my mother dropped a jar of mayo and a jug of milk. And I had to mop again. Why can't she do the dropping on a day when I didn't just mop?

im think that i finally smoke my Toshiba up...:rl:

no more virus...If it is still virus hiding and up ambush, im gonna atomic bomb on this Toshiba-

:) I was speaking in terms of geographical proximity, When I visit, I'll be sure to haul around a detector around Bendigo.

I'm thinking I need to go wake the baby up and take him to the Dr... he's got Croup again-- not viral but he still sounds like a barking dog and cant go to school... AND mom's got a horrific earache and sore throat so the walkin clinic can see us both at the same time WOOHOO!!!

Can't believe he's been asleep AGAIN since 930... he really doesn't feel well!
