I'm thinking my choice of wild rice to pair with my Salmon with Duxelles (mixture made with mushrooms, onions, and leeks) was not such a good idea. It's going to be a bit earthy even for me.

courts SUCK that's why. First my daughter gets taken away and now my money gets taken away. I dont want to return to work. I kinda want to get fired so he cant have my money.

I can't blame you for feeling this way.

Better consult with your lawyer again and see if you can appeal this or get your daughter back so you don't have to pay that shit money. Isn't your ex rich in asset? If so, then he should sell it and use the money to support his family.

Shel, this is awful! Get yourself a different lawyer, maybe? Or are you dealing with an awful judge here? I'm so sorry for you and I will keep you in my prayers that some good resolution comes out of all this !!!

from what I know - Colorado law, if you can prove that the other half has other kids that are with them that are not collecting child support - they need to get the other kids to be supported first before they can collect off you. However this goes by age - oldest first.
Maybe there is something there for you?

Good feedback. Perhaps another lawyer would have other ideas or knowledge of other "loopholes" that wouldn't make Shel have to pay.

Shel, you already work a 2nd job as it is. Surely the judge has to see you don't have $700 in free-floating money to spend !!

I still have some hope. The courts ordered us to go to a mediator next Friday, the 18th. I am gonna see if I can work something with my ex. He is trying to avoid going to trial because he doesnt want to fly out here. If he persists on that amount, I will not agree to anything else he wants which will force a trial. Fuck him. I have never hated someone so much in my life.
 
I know divorces are hard on everyone. When I got divorce from my first ex, and that is in NY. By NY law that I have to pay 1/4 of my income (for two child) and that is nearly $1700 per month plus I have to pay medical expenses, that racked up to nearly $2000 per month. Now, I don't give a shit about how much I have to pay to my ex. All I care is to be sure that those children can live comfortably, have nice clothes, and have them what they need. The outcome for this kids mentally are more positive.
You know my ex do not make enough money and If I fight against how much I have to pay... let say I rather pay $250 per child per month, it will put hardship on ex and that ex emotionally effect the children. Children can pick up parents emotions easily. You know, ex will scream at the children that she doesn't have enough money to buy new shoes for the children. So, it will impact the children in lot of way.
So, when my child support ended, she's sucker...she's into lot of debt.
So, in my opinion, what's more important is to have my precious children live comfortable than my bitchy ex.
