I'm thinking about "My sister's keeper' book and how poignant it is.

Warning: if you decide to read this then you're liable to weep at the end of the story.

QuirkyLibra, your cats are possessive!

My cat used to block webcam everytime I was talking with a man! I don't know how he knew there was a male on the other end. If it was my women friend on the cam then he'll leave it be. Now he doesn't do so much to obstruct my view from reading materials, writing or playing around on the computer. It might be that he's a senior cat now and cannot be bothered exerting so much effort. Although he does make sure I'm in his line of view most of time and makes sure I don't forget he's there. :)

LOL...

I deliberately let the sink piles up weekly and the bathroom go uncleaned (at least til yesterday when I decided it was too gross) since the week after she moved in to send her a message, but apparently she's not the subtle type.

With ANY roommate you cannot be subtle in your approach, it is best to sit down upfront and lay out the rules of what is expected of her. Be very open and upfront about what needs to be done to maintain the flat. Have her sign a binding contract and ask a friend to be a signing witness, everyone signs the document, date it, and some people even go so far as to have them notarized (I don't, but I've heard of others doing so). Keep the original copy in a locked safe as well as a copy hung on the wall where it is clearly seen so it will serve as a reminder of the agreement on both sides.

Delegate responsibilities, and maybe even take a job-sharing approach. Communication is the key to get this work out. If your roommate decides not to agree with this, then tell her that her other options are to go to a shelter, get a flat of her own and pay her own bills, or live in a cardboard box and drink cheap wine. Give her 5 days to move out.

I'm thinking about the blessed land known as sleep.

I have been up 30+ hours and counting.

I am thinking about the birthday party I am taking my daughter to tonight.

I agree with JClarke - Win 7 is 10 times better than Vista!
