I have this: schizophrenia. I haven't been hospitalized in more than 10 years, and I am the least likely person to need it. The doctor said that my behavior didn't meet the bipolar requirements, so it was removed. Now, I would never anyone today, but 15 years ago, yes. I have come a long way to be where I am today.

That's great that you have improved! I am sure it was a long and hard road.

Well as long as you also have the right medications. It took a long time to find the right meds for my cousin but he also has autism. And my uncle never took meds for it, he never was aggresive.

I've had the right match for nearly 11 years.

Unfortunately, I do-- however, I do not present a danger to anyone at all. I'm very teddy like, and have a soft heart. I'm not like most people who have it.

It obvious you're not Schizophrenia. Sometime Psychologist can be wrong diagnosed.

I wish that were the case. It took four doctors back in the 1990's to figure out what it was. First, I was misdiagnosed with ADHD, which I did not meet the qualifications for, and then they misdiagnosed me with bipolar disorder, which I also did not meet the qualifications for. Now, I am what I have, but I am hardly a danger-- that ship has sailed a long time ago, and I do not want to see it back. I am very unlikely to be violent, as it would take a very considerable amount of something happening to have that happen, and it hasn't. I have too much to live for, and I care enough about my life to keep living.

Aders arent qualified to make diagnosis, just a fyi

I agree. We can all give our opinions and such but even if any of us does have a clinical pay degree or aomething similar. The diagnose would have to be made in person. And Mark i guess as long as you keep taking your meds and get the help you need you will be fine.

Yup. That's why I wanted to stay in the Chicago region-- my chances of survival are much better here than they would've been had I moved to Southern IL 9 years ago.

Ouch. I hope that you don't have Schizophrenia. I had an ex hearing friend have schizophrenia and bipolar. She is very dangerous and threat on her daughter and her ex husband. She went to Mental Behavioral hospital many times. I decided to end the friendship with her because she blamed on me for write a note cause confused her.

My old schoolmate got suicide by herself with knife stabbed her chest until died. She was not on medicine cause dangerous.

You know what happened to Arizona shooting, Movie shooting, Umibomer are suffering with Schizophrenia. They are at prison in rest of life.

The schizophrenia is easily treated with medicines - antipsychotic drugs to make more stable. Without medicine, Mark could threat or hurt someone and his life could be unstable with uncontrolled hallucination.

Not all people with schizophrenia are dangerous, especially they are treated with medicine.

That is true. They need to stick on medicines in rest of life. It's not easy to be without medicines.

That's correct. I am more stable today than ever before. If I were to be taken off any of these meds, disaster would strike-- and badly.

One of my work customers told me she is working on her bucket list. I have known her for nearly 12 years.

She said one of her items was a hot air balloon ride, but it was too expensive and far away. I suggested a motorcycle ride. She had not done that since she was a kid. Today, I drove over to her place on my Honda Goldwing trike. Her friends were there to take pictures. I helped her on and we rode for about 45 minutes (20-25 miles). She was thrilled. By the way.....she is 86 years old.

Ok, I got it now.

Combined bipolar disorder with schizophrenia = schizoaffective, in case if you don't know.

There are two types of schizoaffective disorder-bipolar and depressive. Depressive type is not violent. They usually have hallucinations when they are stressed or severely depressed. This disorder is manageable with two medications anti-depressant and anti-psychotic.
