Heights... no, not really, I am not scared of flying at high altitudes, but I am afraid of FALLING off from a high places so therefore, I am scared of tall buildings or stairs or elevators where windows are the walls..
I have defied my fear of cockroaches and spiders... I stopped screaming whenever I see a roach or a BITSY SPIDER... but still I am squeamish about them and avoiding them much as i can.. (THAT IS NORMAL, RIGHT?! lol) I can kill a spider on my own... with a LOT, LOT of tissue paper and protective gloves on my hands... :-D AN IMPROVEMENT. ;) Usually I would scream and scream until somebody comes and takes that little disgusted thing away from my "space"...

LOL. Gnarly, you and I have the same phobias -- When you described your elevator story, it is exactly what happened to me when I was in NYC... we went into one of those elevators at the Marriot Hotel to go to the View lounge at the very top floor -- I was hyperventing, my friend couldn't believe his eyes.

the stupid glaucoma test thingie (the vision test using that blue/purple light for those that might not be familiar on which test it was)

LOL, Fly Free... I am terrified of that torture device... it takes many tries for them to do the test, and there's been several occasions where they gave up and said, "Ok, nevermind!"

As noted above, I have a fear of
Falling -- (heights aren't too bad, just glass windows, and I tend to stay close to a stable structure away from the windows),
Spiders -- altho I have calmed down about it.
The Glaucoma torture device!!! -- I swear those air puffs are lethal!
Looking out the windows at night when it is very very dark -- sudden movements scare the bee-jeezus out of me!! :jaw:

I was reading all these posts.. I have a big fear of cockroaches... They are the most disgusting things alive!!!! My fear for them started when one day i was getting ready for school and i was putting on a sweatshirt and it crawled all over me!!!! *whines* i hate it! After that happend i threw away my sweater.. i was so scared if it would be in there again.. I also have a big fear of the dark.. I always seem to think that some kind of creature jumps out of the darkness and kills me or something.. I know im being dramatic but it can happen.. I had a big fear of my basement for a long time because it was dark and stuff.. One time when i was little i was playing barbies in the basement and my mom didnt know i was there and she turned off the light *disgusted look at mom* and i saw these red eyes looking at me.. I got scared for a long time and didnt go to the basement for maybe 2 months! But Im happy now that I know it was just my imagination.. still it creeps me out a little....

 I have an extreme case of anchranophobia (SPIDERS). I am absolutely TERRIFIED of those creepy crawlies. I also am a big chicken of other insects as well. Don't ask me why...I just am! :P The Huntsman spider, specifically, is the one I have the most fear of -- here's an image and you'll see why. They're bloody FAST, ugh! *shuddering*

These spiders came to my house 4 or 5 times per year, and I squash them with my broom. I'm not scared of spiders!

WaterRats13, do you remember we saw one at work last Christmas? HA HA

I was biten by white-tail spider on my very first week of arrival in Australia from England!!! I was outside sunbathing, and the spider came to my arm and bited and it woken me up but I gave it a flick, and the next day, oh boy, my arm was so heavy and a small hard lump and I remember it was this tiny spider so I went to see Dr and he gave me a tetanus shot and it helps alot, and I keep it up every 10 years to date. Australia has lots of poison spiders and top deadly snakes in the whole world - Taipan, is very poison 3 or 4 times more than King Cobra (Indian snake I mean)!!

Oh RedRum!!! Why did you have to remind me about that spider at work! Sheesh! I think I embarrassed myself because now everyone at work knows how TERRIFIED I am of spiders!

I don't blame u about Cockroaches I have seen some before when We used to live in this Old House When I was in Jr. High. That house had mice, Cockroaches it was horrible I could not eat something out of the cabinets. I once saw a few Cockroaches in the Cracker Box I was putting my hands in it and all sudden I felt something tickles me and then I pulled out my hand the damn Cockroach was on my hand I start screaming on the top of my lungs! I hate that House I told my dad please let move please!!!
