I just upgraded from AT&T 8525 to Blackberry Bold and wanted to know what must-have application is. I’ve downloaded Beejive Messenger and Google map that I use the most on 8525.

So, what else should I download?

Thanks in advance.

go to crackberry.com and take a look around. chances are you will find something that suits you.

pocket express, accuweather, yahoo, aim, blip, sorenson ip relay, google map, signal location is what i pretty much use. I only have so much memory space , I cant load any more. If i need something else, I'll delete something and add the other.

Can't load anymore program

Viigo, Opera mini, Google Map, Texas Hold'Em King 2, WorldMate Live, Gmail, Yahoo E-mail, AIM/Web Messenger (free), BBTran (foregin language transtation)....

I really can't load up any more program due to memory. But I definitely will upgrade to T-Mobile's BlackBerry Curve 8900 (code name: Javelin) this summer.

Google Map, Mobipocket Reader, Opera mini, AIM, Midnight Pool (billard game). All are free.

Mobipocket reader is a Ebook reader but convert .pdf to .prc to make it work. I use that to read Ebook.

Thanks for the replies. :)

One thing about Sorenson IP-Relay, I visited their website and they said they provided 10-digit number to receive phone calls and I clicked the mySorenson.com link - it's showing certificate error. Did anyone have similar problem?

My favourite BlackBerry apps so far:

Google Maps - Google Maps
GMAIL Mobile - www.gmail.com/app
MSN Live Messenger - www.blackberry.com/livemessenger
AIM Messenger - www.blackberry.com/aim
Google Talk - www.blackberry.com/googletalk
Facebook - www.blackberry.com/facebook
Yahoo - www.blackberry.com/yahoodownload
Opera Mini - www.operamini.com
Garmin Mobile GPS - www.garmin.com/mobile/blackberry

Opera Mini is faster than BlackBerry Browser. However, I like to fast-scroll using the number pad (2/4/6/8) rather than the trackball, and zoom in/out using the number 5 key. I also use full screen mode and small font size, to cram a lot of text.

Garmin Mobile GPS turns your BlackBerry into a Nuvi and works great 100% hands-free for driving (it even auto-reroutes if you miss a turn!), with all the features of a Nuvi, with the same 3D graphics of a Garmin Nuvi. Very cool thing to be able to carry a Garmin GPS built into a BlackBerry, no need for a second device. Expensive but worth it if you hate carrying too many gadgets (separate Garmin GPS and a BlackBerry, etc).

I have these video games as well (paid games for BlackBerry):
Crash Bandicoot 3D Karting (from www.magmic.com / www.bplay.com)
Prince of Persia (from www.magmic.com / www.bplay.com)
Age of Empires III for BlackBerry (fom www.handmark.com)
Pac Man

While not all games are as good as iPhone, the BlackBerry video games are getting better and better, and actually are fun to play. (Electronics Arts is now in the market too - www.bplay.com/ea)

BlackBerry Bold has lots of memory (just make sure you upgrade the OS, so you eliminate most of your memory leaks). You can have dozens of applications all at the same time now on a BlackBerry.

My faves are: google maps, gmail mobile, bb messenger (I guess it's pre-loaded by default on newer bb's... had an 8700g in the past and I had to d/l messenger), Viigo (excellent RSS newsfeed reader!), twitterberry (into keeping up with Lance Armstrong), i711, and the Opera mini.

Apps I have installed but haven't really used them that much are: Where8300 (has gasbuddy which finds the cheapest gas nearest you via gps), pocketexpress, bolt browser (in public beta now), and Fox43 Tracker (traffic cams).

I have the bb 8330 and I really love it as I am never far from it. I'd love to have the 8900 curve bec of the sharper and higher rez screen, faster cpu (renders faster in browsers), has wi-fi and a way better 3mp cam. I can get it but if I do I can only go EDGE (ATT and TMO). Wish Sprint and RIM would hurry up with the 3G 8900 (8930? or 9230?) already!

I agreed with you! Garmin Mobile is best one ever!

BB 8900, known as BB Niagara will release on Verizon in May and will support EVDO Rev. A.

Foxrac, just saw on Boy Genius Report that the Javelin II/Niagara will be out on Verizon around May/June. Looks like Sprint will get theirs later as usual. It will be called the BB 9630 and will not have wi-fi (not that important as it is EVDO revA). Here's the link BlackBerry 9630 is the Niagara, Verizon World Edition? : Boy Genius Report

This will be great for tethering to your laptop on the go, with CDMA 1x speeds. :)

are those thing any spectacular?

Jiro,

Yes, it's everything I wish for in a BB device. I have the BB Curve 8330 with Sprint and it's amazing, however, the curve II (Niagara) that is coming out in May/June will be even better. Why? Faster EVDO rev A, faster cpu (better browsing experience as it renders faster), better camera (3.2 megapixel as opposed to 2.0 with the current curve), 4.7 O/S, larger and sharper screen, plus the same slick form factor as the current curve (slightly smaller, too!). I'd love to have my grubby hands on it now but I just got the curve 8330...

Yup, I will considered to get BB 9630 in late spring or summer under same carrier, Verizon.
